    The bus stopped, and Nadia wasn’t sure if this was the one to take because it had Work House on it. She waited until all the other women got on. She got and quietly as possible asked,

    Does this bus go to the prison?

    Yes, it’s one twenty five. She got quarters out of the purse, paid the fair, and then took a seat. Some of the women were talking. As the bus got closer to the prison she was wondering if the emotions could be controlled wanted to slap him, scream at him, so upset that her life was screwed up.

    She followed the other women up a hill. From the road, you could drive by and never know there was a prison here. It was hidden by trees. The twelve foot high fence with barbwire on the top could not be seen from the road. This was a minimum-security prison for non-violent offenders.

    After going through glass doors, there was a large room with chairs and a desk with three guards behind it. Nadia watched the other women closely. They gave her a paper at the court house about visitation knew there would be a search and was afraid if the rules weren’t followed she would be put in jail. Nadia had always followed the rules never been in trouble with the law not even a traffic ticket. She signed her name, and a guard gave her a key for a locker. Next to her locker
