Erik Angus MacRae

Born Erik MacRae to Richard Warren and Valerie MacRae, the author has spent his whole life in the region of Ontario, Canada and grew up in Scarborough. Growing with a troubled childhood, and uncertain of what to make of his future Erik would face numerous bouts of depression, anxiety and escapism in his life until becoming a Christian and gaining a more thorough understanding of the literature of the Holy Bible of Christianity which gave him a sense of meaning and purpose and ultimate destiny. Erik has been through multiple denominations of the Christian faith with exceedingly different doctrinal stances, first beginning his journey in a Baptist-Calvinist Church, where he learned the basics of Christ for about seven years. After this he would become involved on studies in the Hebrew Roots movement, but later defected to a more biblically-oriented messianic congregation. Finally, he would identify as non-denominational and serve in discussions with numerous Christians of all denominations. He is very zealous for defending the authority and legitimacy of the biblical text and its core dictates.   Throughout his informational journeys he has studied the work of the Minnesota pastor Daniel Joseph of Corner fringe Ministries closely for over 3 years and numerous topics pertaining to apologetics. Fancying himself an apologist at heart, Erik carries a great passion for “equipping the sheep” of the Christian faith through education to defend their Faith, and for aiding the non-Christian in understanding the complex and numerous evidences that point to the reality of God and His Person in the Father, Son, Holy Spirit and His Word as the Scripture of the Holy Bible. Introduction

I remember quite a while ago beginning my studies of the biblical texts pertaining to the infamous AntiChrist, the Man of sin and lawlessness. I remember going through the material of men like Walid Shoebat. I’d hear one opinion that the Madhi of Islam was the AntiChrist, and another would say President Obama is the AntiChrist, and yet another would say that AntiChrist will be a half-human half-demonic hybrid brought into the world through genetic manipulations in gene sequencing experiments.

Because of our conviction that the Scriptures, Genesis to Revelation is the infallible Word of God, and that all right interpretations should be sensible and not contradict themselves outright, and that the whole text of the Bible, both Testaments has to speak to the interpretation of subject matter extracted from the Bible- because of all these, we of the Sola Scriptura Church took our pursuit to understand those ancient prophecies with dead-seriousness and severity. If an entity was going to come into being and institute a system of a nation with an economic and political backbone upon which any human would be radically tempted to join and so lose their soul, their humanity and all hope of receiving eternal life without even knowing it so as to be predestined and condemned to eternal torment for supporting that AntiChrist – if this was to happen, we had to know it and to seek it out with all diligence so that we ourselves could be sure that we would not be deceived too – not deceived into receiving the mark of the AntiChrist.

There was indeed a period where my studies on this one and singular topic were more focused and more dedicated. Over time reading and learning of other segments of Scripture, becoming involved in other aspects of life, and general changes of focus saw me redirect my eyes to more pressing concerns. Yet years later, as my wisdom in the interpretation of the Scriptures increased, I was forced to confront a harsh reality that I myself had understood and known less about the AntiChrist and the truth of his identity than I thought, and that most of the church and most so-called Christians knew absolutely nothing about the adversary, the AntiChrist and his methods. In fact, it often is that the Christians most specialized in making presentations of the identity of the AntiChrist with reference to a functional and singular human being and political leader in our own timespan (i.e., President Obama is the AntiChrist!) that seem to serve the AntiChrist best in spreading confusion and blurring his true identity from being revealed.

The goal of this book is to end the charade, and end the games and force AntiChrist out into the open and visible space, to render him, his method, and his power visible and identifiable so that all elements of this one of Satan can be bound and restricted.

This is of course intended for an educated Christian audience, members of the Church of Christ globally and is written as such.

Also, as a word of advice: Test the words of this book, especially where interpretations of Scripture are designated and explained.  But when you test, do not use your private preference. Do not try to prove it to be true if you like what it says and want it to be true, but neither should you try to prove it to be false because you do not like what it says and want it to be false. Your private feelings and emotions have little to do with determining whether a message or interpretation of Scripture or and explanation or extrapolation of Scripture is true. A reasonable and logical mind examining through the lens of Scripture without a preference and without a bias is the only way to adequately proceed in approaching discussion of this nature.

What is the source of truth and how do we read it?

Before we go on to speak about the AntiChrist, it is important we flesh out the key source of information and how to read it. If I ask, What is the key textual document needed to identify the AntiChrist?, the informed Christian will answer: The Bible. All the texts that identify the work and character of AntiChrist are in the Bible, Genesis to Revelation.  That answer is absolutely correct and beautiful. But then we are forced to deal with these questions: Do we know how to read the Bible?, Do we know how to interpret the Bible’s texts correctly? Afterall, there are apriori positions that I take approaching the topic of the book, and it is important for the reader to understand them. We can explain in a Question-and-Answer format.

Question: What is the source of truth?

Answer: The Holy Bible. Genesis to, and including Revelation.  (On this topic of the AntiChrist, but also on all topics.)

Question: How do you read and interpret the Bible?

Answer: "The Holy Scriptures are not freely interpreted according to one’s personal opinion or private preference. There is a right way to read and interpret them which leads to eternal life and peace, yet also there are many wrong ways to read and interpret them which lead to death, condemnation and eternal punishment. There are rules to interpreting the Bible, and texts within it.

Since it stands that in order to identify the AntiChrist we must extract textual explanations out of the Holy Bible, then we must first cover, learn and explain how to read and interpret the Bible. Only then, after do we even have a chance of getting a legitimate identification for the AntiChrist.
