Author

Erik Angus MacRae

Born Erik MacRae to Richard Warren and Valerie MacRae, the author has spent his whole life in the region of Ontario, Canada and grew up in Scarborough. Growing with a troubled childhood, and uncertain of what to make of his future Erik would face numerous bouts of depression, anxiety and escapism in his life until becoming a Christian and gaining a more thorough understanding of the literature of the Holy Bible of Christianity which gave him a sense of meaning and purpose and ultimate destiny. Erik has been through multiple denominations of the Christian faith with exceedingly different doctrinal stances, first beginning his journey in a Baptist-Calvinist Church, where he learned the basics of Christ for about seven years. After this he would become involved on studies in the Hebrew Roots movement, but later defected to a more biblically-oriented messianic congregation. Finally, he would identify as non-denominational and serve in discussions with numerous Christians of all denominations. He is very zealous for defending the authority and legitimacy of the biblical text and its core dictates.   Throughout his informational journeys he has studied the work of the Minnesota pastor Daniel Joseph of Corner fringe Ministries closely for over 3 years and numerous topics pertaining to apologetics. Fancying himself an apologist at heart, Erik carries a great passion for “equipping the sheep” of the Christian faith through education to defend their Faith, and for aiding the non-Christian in understanding the complex and numerous evidences that point to the reality of God and His Person in the Father, Son, Holy Spirit and His Word as the Scripture of the Holy Bible. He has a deep interest in Christian philosophy, Biblical archaeology, and comparative studies, and for bridging denominational gaps through discussions of differences.

    Introduction

How do you read and interpret the Bible?

Interpretive Rule 1: Tota Scriptura (By the totality/Entirety of the text)

Interpretive Rule 2: The Law of Non-Contradiction

Interpretive Rule 3: The Bible is a closed and self-defining system. Foreign and ideas or ideologies cannot simply be read into the Bible where they do not fit.

Interpretive Rule 4: Scripture quotes and references other parts of Scripture, and implies its interpretation through them. New terms are scarcely generated but seemingly newer terms draw on older and pre-existing concepts and words of Scripture to define their form.

Language and Original Language and Manuscript Debates

Which Manuscripts/Language Versions of the Texts are most authoritative and how does it affect interpretation?

What is Generally Known and Accepted in our Time

What is the place of extrabiblical and historical texts in the attempt to interpret the Holy Bible?

    Conclusion

    Introduction

In response the radical levels of corruption and overall poor teaching currently occurring in the majority of Christian Churches, I have resorted to writing and inscribing two formal creeds to help guide the average believer of Jesus away from the wolves that wear sheep’s clothing, away from corrupt pastors, priests, elders and teachers who consume the lives of the sheep and destroy their souls.

The first creed I wrote was a formal explanation of the expectations and rights of both the leaders (elders, priests and pastors) and laypeople. The title of that short creed is Clarification of the Expectations and Rights of Priests, Pastors, Elders and the Laypeople in Christianity and the Churches of Jesus Christ which is like this one contained in ebook format – I recommend reading it alongside with this short book.

To save time, I will be reusing most of the material I wrote on the interpretation of the Bible from the book I wrote on the topic of the Antichrist where I first endeavored to explain how to interpret the Bible so that we could rightly use it as source material for identifying the famous character of the Antichrist.

However, I will be expanding the basic interpretive method somewhat to be a bit more inclusive of elements of language and original language debates.

The goal is to provide the reader with the strongest formula possible for accurately wielding the Holy Bible.

Question: How do you read and interpret the Bible?

Answer: "The Holy Scriptures are not freely interpreted according to one’s personal opinion or private preference. There is a right way to read and interpret them which leads to eternal life and peace, yet also there are many wrong ways to read and interpret them which lead to death, condemnation and eternal punishment. There are rules to interpreting the Bible,
