About this ebook

"Love suffers long and is kind."  We have heard these words before - love is patient and kind. Perhaps we saw it on a quote on social media or online, or in a shop on a t-shirt or coffee mug. Today's society seems to be obsessed with the idea of loving others, but there's a focus on a singular idea of what love is.

What is love? What is it, really? What does it mean to truly love someone? What does the phrase, "Love suffers long and is kind," actually mean and how can we put this into practice and really love the people around us?

This 5-day devotional will take you through 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8. The print version has space for journaling!

    About the Author

    Day One

    1 CORINTHIANS 13:4

OVER THE NEXT FIVE DAYS, I’ll be doing an in-depth word study on 1 Corithians Chapter 13 verses 4 through 8: about love. Most of us see love as an emotion, which is true: it is. Yet love is so much deeper than we can imagine, especially God’s love for us. He loves all of us—you, me, everyone— unconditionally. Nothing can separate us from His Love, and it’s so much deeper and wider than you can imagine! Can you imagine what it feels like to be loved unconditionally?

At the same time, love is so much more than the act of loving others. Most of us love our family and close friends, and we may even care for our co-workers. But true love is loving people even when they make it difficult. Those grumpy, even hateful people that make your life difficult, and even those people with viewpoints and beliefs that you don’t like or don’t want to be around. It’s easy to love people who are easy to love. Even most difficult people have someone that they love. True love comes in the form of showing love even to those who don’t deserve it.
