This book is the birth of a long time dream. Sometimes, it appeared to me as misdirected focus. I have traveled, studied, and interviewed many clients over the years. I changed, the industry changed, and so did the needs of the consumer. We now live in an age of instantaneous information. But one often wonders… What is the relevance of knowledge without implementation? What does all of the information received have to do with the health of hair? What does the health of my hair say about my hair overall?
This book is dedicated to the professional trying to get their clients to understand the need to take hair seriously. This book is also dedicated to the consumer looking to learn more about their hair. This book is dedicated to my clients and my family who said I should have done this a long time ago. This book is about both working independently and collectively to keep hair in all of its glory.
We have been taught that hair is a reflection of what’s within a person. It can be said that is says a lot about our character. Hopefully, this information will leave an impression in the mind and transcend to the outside.
Love and Light,
Paula
The Conversation
When one thinks about hair, there are many definitions that come to mind. For the stylist, hair can be the true definition…. A protein filament that grows from the dermis (skin). It comes in many textures, hues, and lengths. To the consumer…. It is their glory.
The biblical, sexual and social innuendo that comes with the mere vision of hair is transcending. For both parties, hair is important to maintain. A stylist has a duty to protect hair and to preserve an image for the consumer. The consumer is consumed
with all of the visual trends and maintaining their hair as long as possible.
But which one cares about hair the most? Surely this is a debate equivalent to a long awaited, heavyweight match. The truth is in order to keep it on the head in its intended purpose and use is up to both parties. Now that we have that established, let’s get to the matter at hand.
The Great Debate
Hair is one of the most debated topics in the world. From how to clean it, to ways to style it, to the latest trends ….Hair is one of the most important accessories a person can have. A hairstyle can say a lot about an individual. Hair can also serve as an indicator. It can give warning signs about someone’s health. In today’s time, it would behoove both the consumer and the professional to get to the root
of the matter concerning hair.
The Truth of the Matter
Hair is long believed to well, just sprout out of nowhere. Many believe
