    As a man of logic and reason, I always saw Sherlock Holmes as sort of a madman. He, too, operates with the process of logical thinking and reasoning, and yet his methods of doing so far differ from my own.

     

    The process of deduction is one that eludes many people. You must first eliminate all possibilities that seem the least likely explanation, and whatever remains after the fact, no matter how improbable it may be, must be the right choice. This is not the way that many people would think. This is certainly not the way I used to think until the day I met the Great Detective Sherlock Holmes.
