About this ebook

We are drowning in a sea of uncertainty … and the Bible can save us.

Unfortunately, too many people are being told the Bible is no longer the word of God. Somehow, the truth has become negotiable—and the Holy Book that we once held so sacred is collecting dust on bookshelves around the world.

Wonderful Words for Life reminds us that the Bible can be the best resource to look to when in despair or distress. It can help you:

• seek forgiveness for yourself and others;

• recognize false teachers that seek to lead you astray;

• keep your eyes on Jesus as you live life;

• encourage your children to walk a godly path.

The book includes numerous Bible verses that clearly define God’s wish for our lives. The verses will help you take an honest look at your life and be the Christian God wants you to be.

You don’t need self-help books to live the good life. God has all the answers for you in his Word, the Bible!

    INTRODUCTION

    People are drowning! They are drowning in a sea of uncertainty. We are being told that our Bibles are no longer the Word of God. Truth is now negotiable. Many confessing Christians have Bibles that are not being read, and unfortunately, those Bibles are only collecting dust. Biblical illiteracy is destroying the church. How can we truly know God if we fail to read about Him within the pages of His Word?

    Wonderful Words for Life addresses the many areas of concern for today’s Christian believer. Has failure left you shipwrecked on an island of despair? Has seeking forgiveness eluded you? Is there someone whom you still have not forgiven? Is it yourself? Are you aware of what you should bring to worship? Who or what is the Holy Spirit? False teachers are all around us. Are you able to recognize them? Can you trust the Bible?

    All of those topics are addressed in God’s Word. Wonderful words for healing, for comfort, and for hope can be found throughout the Bible—and so much more! You don’t need to purchase any self-help books. God has all the answers for you in his Word, the Bible!

    Are you keeping your eyes on Jesus? Life is not a game, so why are you keeping score? How do I get my children interested in church? Sin, the forbidden topic! Why am I so angry? Anxiety is weighing me down!

    I have been teaching God’s Word for twenty-eight years. God enlisted me to be a teacher’s helper for my son’s fifth-grade Sunday school class. This sounded harmless enough. Enlisted is the correct word to describe what I had signed up for. It was truly warfare! On this first day of Sunday school, I was informed that I would not be a teacher’s helper; I was the teacher! As I nervously gathered the handouts for the week’s Bible lesson, I quickly realized I was in trouble. As fast as I handed out the materials, the children converted them into airplanes, which they launched over the partitions toward the other classes. I couldn’t wait for the class to end.

    After a soul-searching week of prayer, I planned a new strategy. The next Sunday, I set aside the lesson handouts. I quickly took attendance and asked the children to help me with today’s lesson materials, which were plywood, paint, staples, and other building supplies. They were all focused, waiting on my every word! I told them that they were going to build Noah’s ark for the younger classes to use in their upcoming play. As I directed each of them, I taught them the Bible lesson, and they learned.

    I have taught Sunday school for various age groups. I am currently teaching the adult Sunday school class at our church in Linwood Heights. I have created our own vacation Bible school curriculum for themes such as creation, love, Bible heroes, and angels.

    We enjoyed a very successful youth activity, using the theme of Raiders of the Lost Ark. Using a Styrofoam chest, painted gold with rings and poles, we brought real excitement to our Bible quest. Using maps and Bible riddles, we had the children search for the hidden ark. Never tell me the Bible is boring!

    I have taught Bible lessons online across the world. My oldest member, being eighty-six, was also my most distant member, as she lived in Queensland, Australia! I taught under the pseudonym Chris Ed, which was short for Christian education. I am currently teaching Bible lessons about the Gospels. I have several members who have completed more than sixty lessons, working at their own pace.

    I have also preached several sermons in two different Methodist churches. I have been a Christian education chairman, a lay-leader, a Christ Servant minister, a youth activity planner, a teacher for children’s church, and Bible thespian! I love to tell the story.

    You will feel renewed and refreshed when you read the Bible verses that I have included in my text. Each one clearly defines
