    About the Author

    Introduction

I was born and raised in a small town, Marvell, Arkansas, to Jimmie L. Phillips and Florstine Phillips. I’m the second child of eight. Of which my parents had thirteen children together, including half-siblings. We were very poor but rich in love and spirit.

Our parents taught us to be kind to everyone even if they were unkind to us. They also taught us to be humble and thankful for what we do have. It was very important to them that we help others in need. If that meant sharing a meal with the homeless or taking in children who were at risk of being placed in foster care and being separated from their families, whatever you could do to help was required. It didn’t matter their race, creed, or religious belief. My mother would often tell us to treat others how we’d wish to be treated. If it were you in need, what would you want others to do for you? Whatever your response would be, then you should do the same for that individual.

I see my parents’ legacy and living examples carried on through my siblings and myself. One has taken in children and raised them as her own; others are mentors and spiritual counselors in their own rights. One holds annual events to feed the homeless and provide them with health-care exams, personal grooming, clothing, resources, housing, and other essential items needed to improve their quality of life. All of our family members come together each year to support her at this awesome event.

As the old adage goes, A family that prays together stays together, which is our family legacy.

    CHAPTER ONE

    PRAYING AND PRAISING

    GOD THROUGH

    YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES

One sunny chilly morning, as I was getting dressed for work, I sensed God was telling me in His still quiet voice, You have ninety days to complete your book.

I asked, Does this include publication as well?

He answered, No, while the windows of heaven are open, you have ninety days until completion before it closes to complete your book.

This gave me a small sigh of relief. Today is April 6, 2017, and July 5, 2017, is exactly ninety days from today. The total time span is 2,160 hours. This is equivalent to 129,600 minutes. Ninety days converted to seconds is 7,776,000 seconds.

Thanks to my beautiful daughter, Kennedy, whose spiritual eye began to open the week of her nineteenth birthday. She had been researching her spiritual purpose in life and was amazed by the many testimonies of individuals regarding their spiritual gifts and walks of faith. She shared a message with me and asked that we discuss my thoughts on the messages and how similar they were to my own experiences.

While viewing one of the testimonies, I thought I would take notes and write her a summation of what I understood from the show. I felt so filled with the love of Jesus, understanding of our Father God, and the good works of the Holy Spirit that I couldn’t help but share my thoughts with my daughter along with a couple of other family members. This synopsis is shared with you in chapter five, I Know the Plans I Have for You, Declares the Lord, as seen on an episode of Sid Roth’s It’s Supernatural about a young autistic boy named Josiah.

After viewing a prophetic word from three prophets about God’s plan for 2017, I knew where I should begin my life’s story. My journey and book had already been documented over the years with note-taking, testimonies, counseling others, speaking engagements, and ministry leadership roles and participation. My purpose is to give you a glimpse into the miraculous journey and trajectory of my life based on God’s goodness.

Later in life, I learned as disciples for Jesus, we must change the way we live. We must center ourselves in a manner where our lifestyles reflect our beliefs. I’ve always said that true Christian work begins at home. I found myself mentoring my family members about how to live a Christ-centered lifestyle. I expressed how we can’t allow our emotions to dictate our responses or behaviors.

It has taken many years of not only coaching but also self-correcting, biblical reading, and inspiration to stay on task. Today, most of my family members are saved. They profess Jesus as their Lord and Savior and purposefully practice what they believe to be the absolute values of a true disciple.
