About this ebook

In this first volume, W. R. Coleman calls some of her sister-friends together and offers a compilation of their stories of triumph, struggle, love, joy, heartache, and life. These women of God are from various walks of life, and some are not ministers in the traditional sense of the word. Medical professionals, managers, lawyers, educators, and entertainment industry personalities—they are truly diverse in their callings but are absolutely women of God and faith in every way.

Inside these women of God share testimonies of God’s healing of the physical body, deliverance from addictions and temptations, homelessness, and financial crisis, as well as the sweet joy of being led back to a long-separated love and the passion that God allows to still flame. While they have poured their hearts out for all the world to know, these women of God are fully secure and satisfied that their openness will lead to someone else’s blessings.

    Go Ahead & Give Birth!

Imagine with me a woman experiencing the joy of finding out she’s going to be a mother! Her heart races at the news as she imagines how loved ones will respond. Will it be a boy or girl? Will the beautiful new life be healthy? What if complications arise? With all the immediate elation & happiness, the cares and concerns of what might go wrong are ever present, too. Nevertheless, despite interchanging & unpredictable periods of emotional, physical, mental upheaval the news brings, this mother goes forward with carrying the baby to term …

At 3:33am on the morning she knew would eventually come, the baby – which she now knows is a darling little girl – begins to insist that it’s time. She twists, turns, and kicks with power that would rival the punter on the Super Bowl’s winning team! "I am ready to come forth, Mama! Her spouse tries to remain calm, gathering bags that have been packed for at least 3 months. Is this the right one? Why is this zipper open? What is the traffic going to be like? Oh, it should be fine this time of morning …" The honking of the car horn reminds all that IT IS TIME!

Everyone at the hospital seems to be moving in slow motion as this baby is surely about to make her appearance whether anyone is there to catch her or not! All is finally in place after what seems like a mini-eternity … but then panic hits our mother like never before. Perhaps she is young birthing her first bundle of joy or maybe a bit more mature calculating how old she’ll be when this one graduates from high school. Regardless of her status, she lays there vulnerably on the delivery table absolutely gripped by fear. God, I can’t do this? I won’t be good at it. I’m not enough. Something awful will happen …

About 2 hours and some discomfort later, the fear and doubt are completely dissolved as the little princess rests quietly on mother’s breast. She is perfect! All her fingers and toes are the perfect length. The little wisps of black curly hair lay in their own asymmetrical pattern that mesmerizes all who gaze lovingly at this angel. She’s here. Birth has taken place.

Now can you imagine what would have happened if the mother simply REFUSED to have the baby? How would her doctor, nurse, midwife, or doula have responded if in the middle of the labor process, she would have arisen from her birthing bed, gathered her things, and said, I’m not having this baby! It hurts too much! I’m going home!? Sounds pretty ridiculous, doesn’t it? For anyone who has carried a child or even witnessed a birth, there’s no way NOT HAVING THE BABY would be imaginable!

I use this parable-like scenario to bring forth the purpose of this book: to help YOU give birth! There are dreams, visions, ideas, absolute miracles inside of you. God has ordained and destined you for greatness in your own unique way. But guess what … YOU MUST GO THROUGH THE BIRTHING PROCESS!

Life sometimes has a way of convincing us that we’re not as amazing, as gifted, as talented, as phenomenal as we really are, and that mediocrity is our lot in life. I speak to your spirit right now to let you know there’s nothing farther from the truth! Each of us, from our mother’s womb, has A SPECIAL SOMETHING. An individual ANOINTING to achieve certain things during the dash of our lives from birth to transition.

As you read the stories & testimonies of the powerful authors in this book, understand that they’re not all preachers or ministers, but they are most certainly Women of God. They have embraced the journey of faith the Holy Spirit guides them on daily and, in this first volume, are allowing us to peek behind the curtain of their public appearance to see their private struggles, battles, wins, and triumphs. While you’re reading, think about your own journey and ask yourself: IS IT TIME FOR ME TO GIVE BIRTH?

    VICTORIA C. HOWARD

Growing up in the very rural, country town of Isney, Alabama, and having limited access to healthcare, I’ve always wanted a career which would afford me the opportunity to help people. I began that journey by joining HOSA (Health Occupations Student Association) while in high school. After graduating high school, I became a nurse, graduating from Southwest Technical College in Mobile, Alabama, in 1989. After years of practicing as a nurse,
