    INTRODUCTION

Hello there! I see you picked up this book; why? Although I might not be able to say the exact reason why, I can tell that if you're reading this, we both know time management is not one of your strong points. I can almost imagine you thinking how much better your life will be if only you could figure it out. Don't we all think that? But there's no need to waste any more time thinking and imagining. Instead, let's dive into what it takes to manage your time better.

A precise word search for time-management returns nearly 7 million results on Google and more than 9 million hits on AltaVista web indexes. A search for using time productively in Amazon books yields over 65,000 results. This goes to say that there are numerous time using tools and facilities available. What does this tell us?

It tells us that both time and time management are significant issues; additionally, the supply of time management facilities—books, articles, Compact discs, studios, and so on—reflects the enormous interest in these items. The multiple productions of time using tools highlight how common time pressures have become and how individuals are frantically attempting to adapt to and figure out how to make the most of the time they have to meet their demands.

What is it that causes so many people to struggle with managing their time? To a certain extent, we are to blame for our cutting-edge way of life. We accept that a full life is busy, with work, family, interests, and community obligations all putting genuine and competing demands on our time.

Many of us believe that the solution to this problem lies in cramming more exercise into each day but having more activities than there is time to do them is an issue that you can address by becoming more effective. For example, suppose you have ten things on your daily schedule and only complete five of them on a typical day. Then, figuring out how you can do six is a 20 percent improvement in your productivity. Of course, that is fantastic if you are okay with not completing four tasks. In any case, that is an inefficient use of time.

A few people believe that the appropriate response is to spend more time doing those ten things; are they wrong? Let’s see. If these are business-related endeavors, it is necessary to invest more energy at work. Because time cannot be created and can only be redistributed, investing more energy in one action implies saving on another. As a result, if you don't have a family, any relationships, leisure activities, individual interests, or require rest, spending more time at work is ideal. Who doesn’t need all these things? No one! Hence, that still isn't time management. Essentially, it is not what I would describe as time management or using your time effectively.

Using time productively is a step forward than that, and it includes determining what tasks should be completed and determining the best way to complete them. Having more assignments to complete than time to complete them ensures disappointment. Furthermore, having so much to do that you spend your entire conscious existence ticking things off your daily plan will lead to dissatisfaction and burnout.

On his deathbed, no man ever said, I wish I had spent more time at work."

    — Paul Tsongas, Senator

In this book, I'll look at how to approach and complete tasks, both business-related and those involving family, friends, and the local community. These two worlds, if it should be said, exist in different universes. Therefore, this book aims to help you manage time requests with sound judgment and effectiveness so that what is most important gets its due.

Finally, you can read this book from beginning to end, but that is not required to comprehend its ideas. Overall, use the contents to locate a section on a topic of interest. Then, choose the topics that you know are most relevant to your situation and will benefit you the most.

    Best wishes.

    CHAPTER ONE

    AN OVERVIEW OF TIME-MANAGEMENT

Is Time Out of Our Control?

The bad news is time flies. The good news is you're the pilot.

    -Michael Altshuler

We tune in shock to the most serious broadcasts on news channels: stories about someone who becomes so enraged over what most would describe as a silly thing that he attacks, harms, or even kills someone else. Road rage is one of the most well-known manifestations of this problem, but there are numerous others that can include virtually any human activity. All that’s required is at least two people, a flash, and a person who goes overboard with the whole thing.

Also, it appears that these ingredients are easily accessible and come into contact with one another regularly. What do we call these? These are outrageous manifestations of what is commonly referred to as rush disorder or hurry sickness, a state of stress caused by the feeling of not having enough time in the day to complete all that is required. Some people are so focused on achieving their goals that any interruption, even the most minor, can send them into a murderous, careless rage.

We can't help but wonder how these people can let go so quickly and completely, and we take comfort in knowing that we are more levelheaded, more adjusted, and better changed. Minor interfering factors
