    INTRODUCTION

King David asked the question: What is man, that thou are mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him? (Ps. 8:4) Mankind is still searching for answers to this age-old question. Children of the Godhead tackles this age-old question with an amazing new look at the Godhead as it has never been seen before. Religious tradition teaches that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost represents a complete picture of the Godhead. However, this ground-breaking book reveals that through Jesus Christ the saints of God are connected to the Godhead.

Children of the Godhead tells the story of God’s unending love for his people and his desire for his people to be reconciled to him. God extended himself to mankind through the development of the Godhead into the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is a gift to mankind (Acts 2:38) that operates through the saints of God, which links them to the Godhead. This part of the biblical story needs to be told to help the saints of God discover their spiritual identity and take their rightful place in the Kingdom of God.

Children of the Godhead takes an in-depth look at the Godhead and reveals some surprising facts about God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost, and the saints of God. With the support of biblical reference and illustrations readers are able to understand and visualize the connection between the divine and human spirits. This book also details the great benefits that come with mankind’s connection to the Godhead, as it empowers the saints of God to tap into the supernatural power of God.

In addition, this book addresses the controversial subject regarding the roles of women in Christendom showing that the Spirit of God is not gender-based. This book also shows that just as Jesus Christ endured the cross and was resurrected with all power in his hands, Christians can also endure suffering and be victorious. Adding to the excitement and authenticity of this work are miraculous events in my life that testify to the supernatural power of God.

Children of the Godhead is based on the words of scripture as recorded in The Holy Bible, King James Version. It is also influenced by an illumination of the scriptures given me by the indwelling Spirit of the Holy Ghost. This book provides a different perspective on some common religious beliefs because it is not based on denominational beliefs or religious traditions. Scripture quotations and other resources are used throughout the book to support key points.

First and foremost, Children of the Godhead is intended to glorify God. It is also hoped that the saints of God will understand their true relationship to God and be empowered to operate in a new and powerful anointing. When the saints of God realize that they are children of the Godhead, they will take their rightful place in God’s kingdom as kings and priests of God (Rev. 5:10).

    Chapter 1

    The Image of God

The Godhead, which is commonly referred to as the trinity, represents the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. The phrase person of the Godhead is often used to refer to the individualities of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. This book begins with the first three chapters that cover the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost consecutively. In this chapter, we will begin our study of the Godhead by getting to know God. Mankind was created in the image and likeness of God. Therefore, if mankind is going to take their rightful place in God’s universe, they must know God. Furthermore, knowing God determines how the saints of God view themselves.

    WHO IS GOD?

The first thing that we learn about God is found in The Holy Bible in Genesis 1:1 where it is recorded, In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. This lets us know that God existed before there was anything else. One of the first things that God teaches his people Israel is that he alone is God. The Bible says, Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord (Deut. 6:4). Life as we know it exists because of God. Paul’s writes to the church at Corinth, But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things . . . (1 Cor. 8:6).

There was no God before the God of Heaven, and there will be no God after him. The prophet Isaiah declares, Thus saith the Lord the king of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God (Is. 44:6). In John’s prophecy to the seven churches of the things that were to come to past, this powerful statement is recorded, I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty (Rev. 1:8). This statement leaves no room for there to be any other God.

The Image of God Is Spirit, Word, and Power

God is Spirit. The first thing that we need to know about God is that he is a spiritual being. The scripture reads, And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters (Gen. 1:2). The words the Spirit of in this verse indicate that a part of God’s image is spirit. John writes, God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).

The Word of God is a pivotal part of God’s image. The scripture reads, And God said, ‘Let there be light:’ and there was light (Gen. 1:3). This passage of scripture lets us know that God’s Word gave commands to which the elements had to respond. It is recorded in the gospel of John, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1). It is important to notice that Word is capitalized in this passage of scripture. John emphasized Word using capitalization to personify God’s Word as God.

God has unlimited power. God’s Word, powered by God’s Spirit gives commands to which all creation must respond (Gen. 1:1-3). The Spirit of God combined with the Word of God produced the power of God. This topic will be discussed in later chapters where we will discover how God’s Spirit also influences the words that we speak.

It is important to know that the three-fold image of God is spirit, Word, and power because mankind was created in the image of God. We will discover that the three-fold image of God is expressed in the Godhead, and in Christianity as a whole. When Moses asked God who he should say sent him (Ex. 3:13). God responded, . . . I AM THAT I AM . . . (Ex. 3:14). In other words, God is who, or what he will be. Let us look at some of the attributes of God, keeping in mind that this list is not conclusive, but gives a general idea of who God is.

Creator - God is the creator and sustainer of the world. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth (Gen. 1:1; John 1:1-2).

Eternal - God is infinite. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty (Is. 44:6; Rev. 1:8).

Immutable - God does not change. For I am the lord, I change not . . . (Mal. 3:6).

Omnipotent - God has unlimited power. But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, with men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible (Jer. 32:27; Matt. 19:26).

Omniscient - God knows all things. The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good (Prov. 15:3).

Omnipresent - God is everywhere. If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there (Ps. 139:8).

Our status in life determines how others respond to us. For example, the position that we hold at our workplace determines our level of responsibility, the authority that we have over others, and how others respond to us. The attributes of God determine that he is the Supreme Being. Because of whom God is, all creation must respond to his commands.

    The Word of God

The Word of God is God’s revelation of his will and purpose. Christians often refer to The Holy Bible as the Word of God. However, according to The HarperCollins Bible Dictionary the phrase Word of God used in scripture often does not refer to the written word, but instead to the spoken words of God, or those inspired by God to speak (1221). The same is true in Christendom today. The phrase Word of God is not limited to the written words of scripture, but includes the written words, and the words of those inspired by God to speak.

Our knowledge of God should not be limited to the written words of scripture. Biblical history tells us that because the children of Israel rejected the Word of God from his prophets, God blinded their eyes to wisdom and understanding (Is. 29:10). Christians today should be careful not to make that same mistake. If we reject the spoken words of God, or those inspired by God to speak, we will also be blind to the will and purpose of God. The prophet Hosea writes, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge . . . (Hos. 4:6).

However, this does not mean that we should reject the words of scripture either because the Bible says that all scripture is given by inspiration of God. Paul writes, For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope (Rom. 15:4).

The Word of God is Spirit

God’s Word is a living entity. Jesus says, . . . the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life (John 6:63). The Word of God governs the universe in which we exist. Peter writes, But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men (2 Pet. 3:7).

The Word of God Reflects His Will and Purpose

God makes his will and purpose known to mankind through his Word. It is recorded in the book of Isaiah, So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it (Is. 55:11). It is important to note the use of the verbs; goeth, return, accomplish, and prosper in this scripture. These verbs were used to personify God’s Word, as being able to take action, or to cause actions to take place.

The Word of God is Life

When the people of Israel complained about not having food to eat, God sent manna from heaven, and gave them commandments on how to gather and eat it. God wanted the
