About this ebook

Casper Farzan, playboy prince of Surra City, has a problem-- the invaders who occupied his city a year ago are back for revenge. He’d rather spend time charming political opponents into bed than rally a defense force-- but maybe that could be defense enough.

He has to start closest to home: the royal guard is rightfully doubting his abilities, and during the last invasion, someone on the inside opened the gates. He'll have to win the trust of their Marshal and his chief bodyguard, Jin, to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

He’ll just need to stop staring at Jin's biceps long enough to do so.

This is a M/M polyamorous erotic romance short at 10k words, and is the first in the series. Each short focuses on Casper's attempts to seduce and win over different allies as he tries to save his city.

    Negotiations

Casper Farzan, Prince of Surra City, first saw the flags of the invading army over his personal trainer’s bulging biceps.

He went limp under the weight of Jin’s sparring hold. The last time he’d seen those flags had caused a year of tragedy. Through the panic it occurred to him that it was nice here pressed up against Jin’s massive pecs. Safe. Free from the returning Asena and their armies.

Then Jin torqued his arm back and he gave in to reality.

You need to practice more,  Jin said, standing. And ‘wrestling’ new lovers until late last night doesn’t count, my lord.

They’re back, Casper said. He pointed over the wall at the cloud of sand being kicked up by the cavalry in the distance.

An hour later, Casper was rallying his Roseguard for a big speech. The Asena army had spread to fill the desert outside the city and was setting up tents for the night. If Casper was still the Prince he’d been two years back, he’d think they were in town for a trade deal. But the last time they’d done this, they’d killed his parents and captured his city for a year.

So it was time for Casper to step up and prevent another invasion.

He looked out over the assembled Roseguard in the palace courtyard. They were all veteran warriors who’d protected his family for generations… and they were all looking at him. Clearing his throat, Casper began his speech.

    Roseguard--

His voice cracked and that was it. His speech he’d spent the past hour reciting in his head was gone. Forgotten under a pile of anxious mortification.

Hi everyone. Hello. I’m Casper. Despite every fiber of his being telling him not to, he waved sheepishly at the professional soldiers he’d avoided commanding in the past year of peace.

My dad ran this city, but he died when the Asena attacked two years back. And my mom. Nope. That’s awful. Half of them can’t even make eye contact after that sob story. Talk about anything else.

Casper cleared his throat. Fortunately, I’ve been kind of running this city for years, right? It sounded more plaintive than he would have liked, but it was true. You all know me. Kim and I. He pointed at his childhood best friend and lover who was currently standing a few feet behind him, doing an admirable job of pretending this speech wasn’t a calamity. You know us. Mostly we worked on scouting missions and trade negotiations before last year’s occupation, but I guess we’re all more experienced at sieges and assaults now. He laughed once into the empty air.

No one even gave him a polite chuckle. Just sunken gazes as they recalled their collective trauma.

Well, fuck breaking the ice, no hope for that anymore. Just lay it out for them. Look, the Asena are at the gates again. We got them last time. We’ll get them this time, he declared with as much determination he could manage from under his cold fear. Hopefully without anyone on the inside letting the Asena in again.

    Prince, a
