About this ebook

Casper Farzan, playboy prince of Surra City, has a problem-- the invaders who occupied his city a year ago are back and hunting for revenge. He’d rather spend time charming political opponents into bed than rally a defense force-- but maybe that could be defense enough.

The enemy general is attacking, and Casper has to hope every ally he’s gathered is enough. When his former captor corners him in the height of the attack, Casper needs to stand and fight to save his city-- and to live to see the best threesome of his life.

This is a M/M/F polyamorous erotic fantasy short at 10k words, and is the fifth and final in the series. Each short focuses on Casper's attempts to seduce and win over different allies as he tries to save his city.

Casper tried to sleep. Nothing worked. Not closing his eyes, nor calming his breathing, nor imagining himself in a fantastical floating fortress.

That last one usually did it-- an enormous keep soaring above any danger, walls made of unbreakable metals; unreachable, safe.

But his dream fortress had been tainted by the pressures on his real life. Now, his exhausted brain conjured up supply issues-- how to get food and water to a floating fortress. How to keep fictional air magicians happy to avoid betrayal. And every shadow held a door he couldn’t close, where a familiar figure turned toward him with a rasping voice and cold eyes--

Casper opened his eyes and glowered up at the domed ceiling of his bedroom. He couldn’t even dream of his safe place without Petrin invading that too.

He got up, threw on a robe, and went to his study. Time to check on the status of the real invasion happening around him.

His best advisor and partner Kim was still where he saw her last, hunched over maps, two lanterns casting exaggerated shadows of her about the room. She was scratching notes onto a parchment paper, the remains of other discarded ideas littering the floor around her. The siege had been going on nearly a month now. They’d dodged danger with little victories all along, but the prolonged stress was clearly wearing on them both.

    Have you slept? Casper asked.

It took a moment for her to register that he was there. She blinked the exhaustion from her eyes. Since when?

    Yesterday. He replied.

Good one, she jested with zero mirth. You?

Tried. He came over to her shoulder to see what she was looking at. It was the same maps of the city they’d looked at for days, little pen nibs representing troops. I just keep doing supply line math in my head.

That got a single chuckle from her. She groaned and leaned back in her chair. At least one of the people running this shit show should be a functioning human. Her look darkened as she pushed a unit around on the map. I hate the waiting. We make these plans, but now what? It’s like...during the first invasion. There was a battle plan, and then it was just sitting in your room, waiting to learn who’d won. I’ve never felt so...small. So much like a plush royal. I can’t do it again.

Yeah. Casper remembered that night of the invasion and the horrible places his thoughts took him. To break the gloom, he went over to a brass pot over the fire. More coffee?

Please, she grumbled, rubbing her temples.

He took the pot, poured some powdered coffee beans into it along with water and replaced it back over the fire. When he returned, Kim was still staring, dead-eyed, at the map.

    This looks… She scowled. ...Good.

You sure? Casper pointed at a couple of pen nibs scattered under the desk. You lost a whole battalion of Asena to the floor there.

She glanced down under her arm. Oh, that’s where they went. Discounting them, she
