About this ebook

When the hope of a generation had died, many were left despondent. Justice would not be served as they had hoped, and the world would still be left wanting. Three days later, the followers of the Christ were met by two women who would bring them the good news - that the Christ is alive. That their hope had conquered and risen. The beginning of the great commission.
Over the years people have shared with strangers, and their loved ones that Jesus is alive. This book tells that story and brings encouragement to those who desire to relay this story to the world.

Love's goodness sought to make a way to be with us; goodness that sought to clothe our hearts with beauty while the chasm of sin and self-destruction consumed us. Love is beautiful, He is kind; patient, and eager to embrace us; covered in truth - truth that heals, offers hope, and holds us together. This love is Christ. This book details this story - the story of a King who is Love that died for all man on the cross to bring salvation. It also teaches the basic principles of bringing this story to a broken world.

    Dedication

Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’

    Matthew 28:18 – 20 (NIV)

    Preface

Evangelism is the proclamation of the evangel (Gk. euangelion), the good news, of Jesus Christ (Longman iii, 2013). Jesus, when He had risen from the dead, gave instructions to the apostles to go all over the world proclaiming the good news about Him. They were to teach the world about who He is; what He did, and how to live in obedience to Him.

When you have just experienced God in an amazing way - whether through healing, salvation, or provision; this can be a thrilling task to do. Your heart yearns to testify about Christ, your feet ache to go all over the world, but it can also be discouraging you yield no positive results -this where the inspiration to write this book came from.

This book was conceived after I had studied the book of Acts and saw how the apostles had obeyed God by doing all He had commanded them to do and the results they yielded.

Then the Holy Spirit started speaking to me about how, when we go after His heart, the devil will attack us. How His grace is sufficient to carry us in these times of trouble. He reminded me that when we obey every instruction from Him success is guaranteed.

I then wrote it as a compilation of lessons learnt from the book of Acts, and personal experiences from the ministry jobs that I the privilege of holding.

It is also a reminder that God's will is our safe place; that we are ever out of danger from the attacks of the devil when we are in His will. His heart is kind and His love faithful. What He requires of us is already provided for by Him, and we have already been delivered from all the troubles of life.

I pray that this book encourages you to go out to the world and proclaim the name of Jesus; that you learn a few techniques about reaching out to the lost or presenting the gospel, and that it strengthens you in times of testing - knowing that He who began a great work in you will finish it until the day of Jesus Christ.

    Introduction

This piece of writing is based on the love story of Christ. It tells the story of God who is love because He carries the attributes of love within Himself. Whose heart boasts that outside of Him love cannot be.

It is story of a King who surrendered His throne in service to His subjects. A story when embraced releases life to the soul that holds it and overflows to the hearts of those who watch – those who dare to listen. By teaching them the art of breaking free from the things that hold them captive and extending that grace to those who are yet to embrace it.

It is History, researched and defined. It is the future, worked towards and written. It is a story of love, of hope, of change and of life. It is the story of the Christ, an account of the Son - a Son who was sent to restore relationship between man and God.

It follows the pattern of 1 Corinthians 13, the only passage that could explain why a God would act this way, and why His Spirit would fuel mankind to act the way they did – the way we ought to act.

It derives lessons from the trailblazers we call apostles in their quest to obey God’s commission – the call of evangelism, but before we continue, I would recommend that you read the following passages of scripture prayerfully. However, they have been included in the text should you prefer not to.
