    Dedication

    How dare you feel worthless?

    Preface

This devotional tackles the love of the Father for us. It takes an in-depth look at Chapter 139 of the Book of Psalms in the Bible, and dissects it in such a way that we understand God's heart for us; how He made us and why He made us the way that He did. This body of works precedes our upcoming book to be published in 2022 on Psalm 139 that will look at the intricacies of science in human design, His Spirit and the future God has for him. God thinks good things about us and these thoughts are no good if we do not embrace them and pray them over our lives. Through three chapters we will summarize the Psalm into three subheadings, then dive into a ten day devotional that looks into these scriptures according to their sequence. We will, then, enjoy bonus teachings on similar themes dealt with in Psalm 139 after Day Ten.

    Chapter One

    Known by the Father

If you have ever had the privilege of taking care of something or someone then you know what it feels like to be without a solution when they are in need. This is especially true for living objects such as people and animals. When your child is in desperate need of medical attention and you cannot give it to them for various reasons, or when your precious pet has to be put to sleep because age has taken its toll on it. Recently, as I have been going through my social media pages, I came across a lot of images of such situations - children suffering from chronic illnesses and disabilities. What struck me was that in those spaces of pain and possible inner turmoil the children were held by parents who were at rest. Then I remembered God.

I remembered how God holds us in the most drastic of situations. How He is never moved by the situations that go on around us because He knows who He is. I remembered how - because He is unshakeable, we are able to rest in Him in moments when we should have been insane; when we should have been broken because He keeps us together.

Then I remembered a word that the Lord gave to me a few days ago during my moments of devotion with Him - REST.

God has called us to a place of rest. A place of holding on to His truth as the world tosses us to and fro. A place of unwavering faith as doubt beats at us. A place of solace as pain and uncertainty weighs heavy on our hearts.

    What is this Rest?

Now may the Lord of peace Himself grant you His peace at all times and in every way [that peace and spiritual wellbeing that comes to those who walk with Him, regardless of life's circumstances]. The Lord be with you all. 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (AMP)

It is the peace of God that human minds cannot understand. It is a mind at rest when anxiety should have gripped you due to life's circumstances.

This peace is not found in feelings but in a state - a state of REST. It is in knowing that whatever the winds may blow or the waves may crash victory is certain; that circumstances will not defeat us because our steadfast is Christ. He is the solid rock on whom we stand. We are the houses of the parables of Jesus - houses built on a rock.

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against the house; yet it did not fall, because it had
