The Night In The Pyramids - Tejas Nayak
Chapter 1
It was a pleasant morning in a silent house.
Nothing could be heard except the sound of boiling tea.
Mom
, I shouted, The tea is going to be ready soon, get down here and help me handle it.
Aww! Why are you shouting, so early in the morning?,
she questioned.
Don't you remember that I have to go to Cairo with professor today?,
I said.
Ah, yes yes. Wait I'll be there soon,
she replied from upstairs and soon I could hear the sounds of her steps rushing downstairs.
Are you done with your packing? Come to the kitchen as fast as you can. The breakfast is ready,
she shouted.
I replied in affirmative. As I rushed to the kitchen, mom had already laid the breakfast on the table.
I sat down and began to eat.
Did you pack everything?,
she asked.
Yes mom,
with food stuffed in my mouth I replied.
I was about to finish my breakfast when the doorbell rang. It was Professor Mendel.
He had taught me about archeology. He is my archaeology professor at the university.
He came in and saw me having breakfast. You may have thought that he is the kind of typical professor who shouts at everyone but he's not.
Good morning, Professor ,
I greeted him with smile.
Do not speak while having your breakfast or you'll choke,
he said as he sat beside me.
After I had finished my breakfast he asked me, Alex, have you packed everything?.
Yes, Professor,
I replied.
Oh right, I forgot to introduce myself.
I'm Alex Branwood, a 20-year-old, sophomore at the archaeological department of London University.
I live with my parents at a small house in London.
My mother is a housewife while my father is an archaeologist from whom I got inspired.
Both of my parents are very caring and I wish I could stay with them forever.
Chapter 2
Alex, are you done? Come fast, else we are going to lose our flight,
said Professor who was waiting for me to bring my backpack down.
Coming,
I replied as I rushed downstairs.
We headed out to the gate where our
