    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

I would like to thank God for the unfathomable Grace and mercy He has demonstrated in my life. I would also like to thank my wife for the love of God and the faith and perseverance she has exemplified throughout the 37 years of our marriage. Believe me, this testimonial would not have been possible without her.

I would like to thank the pastor who taught me to love God’s Word and trust Him for the miraculous: Dr. David L. Corns and His lovely wife, Patricia.

I would also like to thank my Aunt Cora for her prayers and words of wisdom throughout the years.

I would like to thank the printer of this book, my family, and everyone known and unknown who contributed to it, either by words are through deeds.

But most of all, I would like to thank God for loving me and loving the world so much that He willingly sacrificed His only Begotten Son to redeem us… Thank you, LORD!!! Thank You for your Grace!!!

    Evangelist Robert L. Shepherd Jr.

    INTRODUCTION

(I BESEECH you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.) Romans 12:1

This book is a message of Grace birthed in me by the Holy Spirit through many years of struggle.

This book is solely derived by the Grace of a loving Father concerned about the welfare of His children…a High Priest who is touched by our infirmities’ feelings.

Please, readers, don’t allow the devil to use this book to deceive you into thinking that Grace gives one the license to sin. It does not…God forbid! God hates sin…. For the wages of sin is Death… and the soul that sinneth, it shall surely die.

The intent of this book is to awaken you to Righteousness so that you might take your rightful places and live the abundant life as sons and daughters of God in the earth…If you’re a Christian, Christ has paid the price for your triumphant walk in Him.

Some things in this book will be unique and controversial and will not at first smoothly fit within the belief system of some readers… I understand.

But a few of you who know the voice of God when you hear it will know that the Holy Spirit has spoken to and through this weak and fragile vessel—a vessel that was marred and broken in the hands of a Wise Potter who would not willingly give up on it or cast it aside; but would gracefully complete the work He began.

When I came into the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, with evidence of speaking in tongues, I thought: "Finally, all of my troubles are over."

    But man, was I mistaken!

2 Corinthians chapter 5 and verse 7 reads, Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature (creation); old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Another scripture I learned was to: be perfect; even as your Heavenly Father is perfect

This Scripture exhorts believers to mature and grow up, but I believed it meant to be perfect like God was perfect and that I could accomplish this independently--by works…I was in for a struggle.

Truly, the aforementioned scriptures are correct. I believed and always will believe in every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God. But I had a wrong interpretation of these scriptures. The way I viewed these scriptures created within me an unnecessary struggle. For many years, I would try to obey the letter of the law without walking in the Spirit of the Word. If I were to grow, I would have to study to show myself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, by rightly dividing the Word of Truth and consistently practicing it.

My growth in Christ would not have taken such a long period if I had known the Truth and how to apply it. I wanted to be real…I wanted to love and serve God. I knew He was real…and I did believe in Him.

Yes, I was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit, but my mind wasn’t regenerated or changed. I was a new creature, but my body looked and was the same.

I was not perfect, and it would be left up to me to rightly seek and divide the Word of Truth and renew and change my mind’s thinking process if I was to grow in Christ and in the Word of God.

But through it all, my Loving Father securely held me, and the devil could not pluck me from His hands. Slowly but surely, by the Grace of God, I would grow. Thank God for Jesus Christ, our Lord! Thank God for Grace!!!

Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and Grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: (II Timothy 1:8-10)

Let’s Pray: Heavenly Father, Daddy, I ask you to use this testimonial and these truths in this book to help us; Your children whom You have chosen before the foundation of the world and so greatly loved, to grow up and mature into Sonship so that we will no longer be children, tossed to and fro by every wind and doctrine… Help us to know the Truth and to apply it. Teach us sound doctrine and to know that when we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, we instantly become the Righteousness of God in Christ…We partake of HIS Righteousness.

And Father, when we acknowledge that You are the purchaser and the procurer of our Righteousness, let us no longer allow the devil and people to keep us in condemnation and from seeking you for help
