— Romans 8:28
People will never truly understand the general term of “dementia” until it happens to them or to a loved one. Never say never! God is the only answer to our lives, whether you like it or not. Thank You, God, for giving the gift of love to the person who would know how to share it best—our mama! It has been a year since she had the stroke. And with God’s help and a devoted family and group of friends, she has come a long way.
Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth.
— Psalm 115:15

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
I wanted to write a book dedicated to my precious mother, who has been a part of our lives. Today she has past short memories of her children and their families, and believes the future is her present, her now. Blessings to my daughter, Nicole; brother, Darrick; niece Quette, grandchildren Jasmine, Juan and Joshua; and especially my good-looking and hardworking daddy, Willie Mann Jr.; my sweet and pretty mother, Ola B. Mann; and my adorable stepmother, Ethel Mann. Thank you dearly for being a great impact in my life, never looking at me differently but showing me nothing but love. Thank God for all your help by allowing our hearts to work together and bring our little mama back home to be with her family one more time. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
Blessings to my spiritual and anointed man of God, Dr. Senior Pastor Frederick James Sweet; his gorgeous wife, copastor Shannon L. Sweet; and their two loving daughters.
Blessings to my wonderful and handsome husband, Calvin, whom I am married to today and will be forever more. And I would do it all over again in Jesus’s name. Love you, sweetie.
Blessings to my dearest spiritual father, Bishop Hugh D. Smith Jr., founder of Emmanuel Covenant Church International in Battle Creek, Michigan, and Embassy Covenant Church International in Troy, Michigan. Also to his gorgeous wife, Letha, their three cute daughters, and their grandsons. I thank God for you all for being my spiritual family forever. I have so much love for you all in Jesus’s name.
Blessings to anyone who has a loved one experiencing the hardship of dealing with the disease of dementia. You must have a heart and love for the individual with a confused, sometimes angry mind. It is truly sad to see anyone go through this illness. Treasure and enjoy the moments today; tomorrow it could all wash away. And all you would have are cherished moments of yesterday and pictures for memories to last a lifetime in our hearts.
Blessings to my beautiful friends Esther Harden and Katie Barnes. I pray and hope all is well with your beloved mothers, who are also dealing with dementia. And anyone else who has a loved one. I will be praying for them too. I believe everything is going to be all right in Jesus’s name.

—Romans 8:28
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down
in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of
righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through
the valley of the shadow of death. I will fear no evil: for thou
are with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine
enemies: thou anointed my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of
my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
—Psalm 23:1–6
I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.
