Eventually, her parents applied to be permanent residents and became citizens. She became a citizen herself at age twenty-two. She has been married almost twenty-eight years to a man who loves the Lord, Jesus Christ, and is the spiritual leader of the family. She has eight children and is expecting her fifth grandchild. A retired housewife, she serves in her local church body and lives in the Fort Worth, Texas, area.
