About this ebook
Karen Wilkinson-Wahls
Karen Wilkinson-Wahls, I have retired from 42 years of teaching and I am the proud trustee of the Dedicated to Christ Church in Ecorse Mi. where Dr. Aaron Chapman is my pastor. I am the proud author of There Is Hope,The Power Of Prayer, and Living Your Purpose. Through all my trials and tribulations I’ve learned To count it all joy! Sometimes you have to go through heartaches and pain in order to get to where the Lord needs you to be in life. It is through my faith in God that I can truly say that the joy of the Lord is my strength! Being obedient to the Holy Spirit I have a prayer line and its been active for 4years. The Lord spoke and gave me the name S.W.A.G: Spiritual Women Answering God.To lead God’s people you must be in tuned with the Holy Spirit, and in God’s word meditating day and night. We all have a purpose in life to fulfill, the key is to stay connected to God and He will order your steps that leads to your purpose. When God is about to take you to a greater level in your life everything will start to become unglued. Friends, Family and Familiars will disappoint, and you may feel alone. In that very moment of uncertainty God will be your only source of strength, but it is sufficient in your weakness. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

INTRODUCTION
Fulfilling your purpose in God requires faith in God. This means knowing His purpose so that you can appropriate it for your life and in the situations you face. You can never fulfill your God-given purpose in your own strength or based only on your natural gifts and abilities. Nothing can happen without God’s ordaining it. Psalm 57:2 says, I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills His purpose in me.
This is key in understanding God’s purpose for your life. God has numbered your days and will fulfill every purpose He has for you. However, our choices and actions also matter when living and fulfilling our God-given purpose.
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
To my brothers Dwaine, Michael, Neil, Stanford, Paul, and Timothy, and to my sisters Joyce, Sandra, Christine, Valarie, and Elizabeth. Also in loving memory of my three brothers David, Stephen, and Nathan. I thank you for believing in me and for your loving support and encouraging words that inspired me to keep pushing and to never give up. We are a family of twelve standing strong on the Word of God, always praying together as a family to seek God for everything in life that we do for generations to come to carry on the Wilkinson legacy. Trusting, believing, and having faith have led me to the intimate relationship that I share with my God and to be determined, to stay focused, and to always keep His words in my heart as well as my sword (Bible) by my side at all times to draw wisdom and discernment from the Word of God.
In loving memory of my mother, Ruth, and father, Sam Wilkinson, who taught me to never be afraid to stand on the truth. I thank you for your motivating words of encouragement. I shall ever be so grateful for the firmness and the closeness that we shared with one another through the challenges of what it took to raise a family of fourteen children. This shows that you both worked together, leading by example regarding what it meant to be men and women of God. Dad, being the provider, worked every day, teaching us what it meant to be a husband to my mom and a dad to us and to take care of a home and family through the love he gave us all. Mom was a stay-at-home mom who was always there for us and gave us all the attention that was needed to have an unbreakable bond of family loyalty and closeness. That strong foundation of love between Dad and Mom gave me my stability and the support I needed to be obedient to God. It also led me to knowing my purpose, and now I’m living my purpose as I continue to have faith while trusting in the Lord. I shall always love you, Mom and Dad. The memories of you both shall be tucked away safely in my heart always and forever.
To my pastor, Dr. Aaron L. Chapman, thank you for encouraging me to never give up! The phone calls were always on time. I love you for the difference that you have made in my life. You have taught me to dig deep within myself and to trust God when I couldn’t understand the Why me?
Now I fully understand that it had to be me in order to carry out my purpose in my life.
To the youth of this world, never give up on God, because He won’t give up on you! If you are looking for a church home, I encourage you to go to a Bible-believing church that preaches and teaches the holy and true Word of God and that Jesus is God’s only begotten Son. Stay focused on your purpose that God has given you to live your life. Share your struggles and your testimonies with one another; you were born with a purpose. Be a leader to uplift and to encourage others. Step out in faith, and always be ready to share the joy of the Lord because the joy of the Lord is your strength!
PREFACE
During my formative years, acquaintances frequently questioned me about which career I would choose. My reply would consistently be, A teacher.
Believe it or not, this answer was always at the forefront of my mind, passion, and desire. The initialization of my fulfillment of becoming a teacher transpired when I volunteered at Stewart Elementary School as a helper for the kindergarten classes.
I was so ecstatic about the possibility of my dreams being realized through this opportunity. The teachers to whom I was assigned to were Mrs. Bradfield and Mrs. Jackson. They joyfully accepted me and asked if I would report to their classrooms every day. Daily during lunchtime, I reported promptly to have lunch with the children and assisted in any way I could. It was my desire to educate children.
When I turned sixteen, I was hired as a teacher’s aide, working part time after school and full time in the summer. I learned several pedagogical skills from Mrs. Bradfield and Mrs. Jackson. On one occasion, I asked Mrs. Bradfield about how discipline could be taught to the children, and her reply was, It can’t be forced.
Mrs. Bradfield expounded, Karen, you must earn the respect from your students.
I laughed and said, Earn respect from kindergarteners? You must be kidding me.
She said, "I know it seems funny, but they will run over you when they find out you have any weaknesses, like when they cry or
