About the Author
FOREWORD
Who is the author?
You may ask.
He is a young black man who had his share of adversities growing up in a single family.
He knew in the early stages of his childhood that he had an affinity for poems.
Living in the projects, he developed an awareness of his surroundings – both good and bad – began to put his feelings, his thoughts into the language of poems. His questions about the varieties of violence (shootings, gangs, and drug dealers) sent him in search of a spiritual belief.
The death of his nephews, a tribute to his mother and other love ones, special occasions, laudatorier to God, The birth of his first child, his marriage and a tribute to his brother who suffered a stroke, all of these among many more were set in a composition of poems.
I, his mother thank God every day that He gave this young man the wisdom to enrich our lives with his beautiful and powerful poems. I also thank you, my son, for giving me the honor of writing the Foreword to your book.

DEDICATION
This book is dedicated to my wonderful family.
My wife:
Anquinetta
My Daughters:
Janae
Shayla
Jamaia
Imani
Charletta
My Son:
Carandus Jr.
God has blessed my life in so many ways that the dedication of this book is extended with love. To my Parents, siblings, relatives, and friends.
Especially to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy spirit. I would have never discovered the gift to express myself through writing and knowledge of inspiring words.
THE TRUTH
Am I ugly because of my color
Am I indecent because my skin is darker?
Do I not share the same insides as everybody else?
In your eyes, I might be nothing
In Truth’s eyes, I am beauty
I am glamorous, full of wisdom and knowledge
To truth I am a key of love for everybody to share
You might see me as an old dusty book on the cover
But inside I am adventure, comedy, excitement, a thriller all in one If you only take the chance to read me
To you, I am a problem
To Truth, I am the answer
I am the finder, the option, the problem solver
In truth we share these abilities to build a greater world
I’m more than just a cloudy gray sky
If you can look beyond that point
I’m yellow, orange, red, blue, and purple
I am a bursting rainbow with a pot of gold at the bottom.
They say that everything is left in the eyes of the beholder
WRONG!
Everything we behold is in the eyes of Truth
So, hold onto Truth and judge People by the inside and not the out.
God is our Truth in life remember Him above all
and Truth shall be displayed on to you.

THE DREAM
Laying In bed at night, I wonder
What’s wrong with my brothers and sisters
Do we wonder as a people or as a strong culture?
Why are we killing and taking our lives?
When our hearts are built with a strong foundation of love
We are not, and should not be, a dying population
In a dream out of reality, I lost a friend
I asked can we get back to growing as a loving population
Not just for us, but for the life everybody wants to live
If we are one in Christ
In Christ, we have what it takes to love each other
Through all the hurt and misunderstanding in the black community today
Be are the
