There is a time to be born, and a time to die, says Solomon, and it is the memento of a truly wise man; but there is an interval between these two times of infinite importance. -Richmond

    About the author

I was born in the small mid-west town of Watervliet, Michigan in 1962. I grew up there until 1980 when the USAF became my new home and sent me to some different places, Texas, Indiana, and Virginia.

During my life I would face some things that at the time I thought hard to bear, but since then I have come to know that each of these instances helped to make me who I am. There were lessons to be learned from each thing that happened to me, some of those I learned at the time of the trial and others were figured out years after the lesson took place.

In the summer of 1990 I was introduced to Jesus Christ, I made a profession of faith and asked Christ to save my soul. Then ten years later in the month of September I did the same thing again, why?

On occasion the thought would come to me that I was not truly saved, then it would fade away into the background of my life and I would dismiss the thought as it was something that Satan was telling me. Later on my pastor would ask me this question, "why would Satan want you to doubt that you are saved if you aren’t? That is one of his tricks, to let people think that they are saved when they are not.

Pastor Larry Delli, the man that introduced me to Jesus Christ had always said that if you were not 100% sure of your salvation you best find out. For that ten year span of my life I was about 99.9% sure that I was saved. I had enough of the uncertainty.

So on September 10, 2000, I told God that I needed to know that I was truly saved. I knew that I was a sinner and that Jesus Christ had died on the cross of Calvary to pay my sin debt, and that He had rose on the third day, victorious over death and the grave. I asked God to save me and give me the assurance that I was saved. Since that day the doubt has disappeared, and I have been free to serve God without being weighted down with the burden of not knowing my salvation is 100%.

If you are not 100% sure of your salvation please make sure. This is a matter of life and death, both physical and spiritual. Heaven is a wonderful place for those that will put their faith in God to save them. However, the place of torments and eternal fire, Hell is not.

Since that time I have been given the privilege of working in God’s local Baptist church. There are many ministries that are available here and they all are important. Some of those that I have been privileged to serve in are the soul winning ministry, the prison ministry, the bus ministry, and children’s church
