About this ebook

What on earth are we doing here? Why are we on this planet?

We would normally try to understand things by seeing their origin. If we could know their beginning then we would know their purpose. But how about humankind, what is our starting point?
The Gospel is the one and only connection we have from Eternity. This means that the only way we can know our origin and purpose is to see the whole account of the Gospel.
The author believes in the perfect consistency of the Scripture—that all books of the Bible hold only a single message. He is also convinced that the last book is the summary of the whole Bible—the book of Revelation will connect all the dots and will reveal to us the big picture.
This manuscript will give readers a clear understanding about the origin of mankind before the beginning of time, our foretold journey on earth, and our new beginning after the ending of time.
This is the Big Picture of Our Great Restoration.

    B. Lising got his first copy of the Bible at the age of 14. The year was 1986, and after only twelve months, he was able to read entirely the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice. He recalls that he did not understand much then, but he loves to read the Scripture.

Three decades later, he was able to write his first book Laodicea—Why the World Is Not Yet Ready for the Second Coming. His other books are Four Teachings That Have Shaped World History and Back to Where We Came From—Our Foretold Journey. These articulate and well-presented manuscripts will give readers a clear understanding about the origin of mankind and will provide the blueprint to prepare for the Second Coming.

    B. Lising believes in the perfect consistency of the Scripture—that all books of the Bible hold only a single message. He is also convinced that the last book is the summary of the whole Bible—the book of Revelation will connect all the dots and will reveal to us the big picture.

    PREFACE

My dear reader, I want to thank you for taking time to read this book. The fact that it is now in your hands means that God divinely appointed this. It is not an accident. May you find this useful in seeking to know more about the Lord Jesus and His Second Coming, and may it be a good source of information to prepare you for that great and most-awaited event in these last days.

But just like all other books that may be considered somewhat fictional or more likely opinionated, this book is not exempt from having mistakes or errors. How then do you know the truth?

Let me share with you the Bible’s golden rule in seeking answers to any questions.

We know it by the Spirit he gave us. (1 John 3:24 NIV)

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. (John 14:26 NIV)

As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him. (1 John 2:27 NIV)

The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Cor. 2:14 NIV)

The golden rule while we are still inside of time is the Holy Spirit is our friend, our teacher, our guide, our counsellor, and the life and power of the Church.

While inside of time, God’s chosen people (whose names have been written in the Lamb’s book of life) are all connected to the Father and the Lord Jesus because of the Holy Spirit.

If you find this book personally beneficial, share it with your friends. Give it as a gift to your loved ones. In doing so, you are taking part in preparing the Church for the Second Coming of our King.

The Lord Jesus says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’

    Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.

    INTRODUCTION

    Our Friendship with God

    and the Kingdom Gospel

    The apostle John wrote:

Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal Gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth—to every nation, tribe, language and people. (Rev. 14:6 NIV)

We would normally try to understand things by seeing their origin. If we could know their beginning, then we would know their purpose. But how about humankind, what is our starting point? For years, many have undertaken to provide a satisfying answer to this divisive question. And up till now, mankind has not yet reached a consensus. Each has their own thought. Everybody thinks we just need to respect each other’s conviction for the sake of peace. Believe what you want—this is the kind of thinking that exists in the world. Thus far, there is still no agreement as to what our origin is. Until now, there is still no harmony as to what our purpose is.

Apparently, the above case is just from a secular standpoint. When we shift to the spiritual perspective, things would be different. Mankind in reality would never reach a consensus; this is as far as the Scripture is concerned. And the reason is actually not obvious—there are unseen forces that can influence the thinking and belief of individuals. We are talking about the two kinds of power that exist on the planet (yes, there are only two, and the superior one is the Gospel). The other power enslaves, but the Gospel gives freedom and it is described as the testimony of the Lord Jesus.

This Gospel is not just the power of God for salvation but also a complete message that can provide answers to all suitable questions. The Gospel is the one and only connection we have from eternity. This means that the only way we can know our origin and purpose is to see the whole account of the Gospel.

The initial fulfilment of the Gospel is the First Coming of the Lord Jesus, the middle fulfilment is the Holy Spirit, and the completion is New Jerusalem (in sequence with the Second Coming). Knowing the end part is imperative in understanding the middle part and the beginning. As affirmed in the Scripture, New Jerusalem is the end part and the final stage of our foretold journey. Churches today, when preaching the Gospel, rarely or do not even mention New Jerusalem. It is true that the Lord Jesus is the centre of the Gospel, but we also need to know that the reason why the only begotten Son of God needed to go through all the sufferings is for us to become part of New Jerusalem. This is the reason why the Lord Jesus, after His resurrection, needed to leave His disciples and go back to the Father. He has to do something necessary before coming back for the Church—this is in relation to New Jerusalem.

What is then the connection between New Jerusalem and the Gospel? This is a very serious question. Not knowing the link between the two is also a very serious issue. In contrast, knowing the connection will help us discover our beginning. If New Jerusalem is the end part, then the first Jerusalem would be the starting point. New Jerusalem is in fact the re-establishment of the first (spiritual) Jerusalem. Does this mean that something happened to the first one so there was a need for the founding of the new one? This we can know if we see the entire account of the Gospel.

But how can we see the complete account of the Gospel? Making known the Gospel is the work of the Father, the Lord Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. God as one has been constantly active in advancing the Gospel. The Scripture states that God had decided to make known everything to us because of only one reason—friendship. We are no longer like a servant who does not know his master’s affairs.

I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. (John 15:15 NIV)

How blessed were the first disciples. The Lord Jesus called them friends and because of this, they were able to hear face to face the complete message from eternity. Notice the word everything from the above passage; no information was withheld from them. Everything that they needed to know, as in everything, was made known to them at that time—they were able to see the big picture of our great restoration.

Friendship is a significant part of the Gospel. The greatest love proclaimed by the Lord Jesus in the Scripture is to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. Yes, He did not only
