    INTRODUCTION

A s I go through each day, I find that more people are contacting me looking for an encouraging word. God laid it on my heart to write this Sixty-day devotional based on His word and what Jesus died for us all to experience as we go through life.

So many Christians are living a life of depression, despair and discouragement. This book is intended to encourage people and help them to grow in their walk with God. The Holy Spirit is our deliverer, our healer, our strength, our refuge, and our hope. He is all that we need and is the answer to all of life’s problems, no matter how minor or major. At the end of each Chapter is a page for notes. I encourage everyone who reads this book to study the scriptures and apply them to their daily life as they grow in their faith and continue their walk with God.

"And He said, take now your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a Burnt Offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell you of."

Some years later, Abraham, who is now well over One Hundred years old is being asked by God to offer his only son, Isaac, as a burnt offering, a sacrifice. This experience would reveal to Abraham the means by which God would redeem humanity—by the death of His only son, Jesus Christ.

Abraham after much prayer and questioning whether he was hearing from the Lord, determined that it was the Lord and in obedience traveled for three days before arriving to the place where God would have him stop and build an altar. Laying his only son down to be sacrificed, Abraham took the wood of the Burnt Offering, and laid it upon Isaac, with fire in one hand and a knife in the other, Abraham proceeded, as Isaac questioned where the lamb was for the burnt offering.

As Abraham stretched forth his hand and took the knife to slay Isaac, an Angel of the Lord called unto him, stopping him. Abraham lifting his eyes looked, and saw a ram caught in a thicket by his horns. Abraham went and took the ram and offered him up as a burnt offering instead of his son.

How many times has God given us a task to complete that we really did not want to tackle? How many times has God ask us to sacrifice something dear to us for the sake of drawing closer to Him? There are many lessons that we can learn from this short story about Abraham and Isaac. One of them
