CHAPTER 1

I t was a stormy fall evening my family and I were headed back form a camping trip. We all entertain our selves by telling ghost stories and legends of mysteroius winged beast that were said to enhabit the area. I had know idea weather they were true or not but the stories sure did fascinate me. I also heard the train’s previous conductor had been brutally murdered and the case had been unsolved.

He was blugoened really badly and had his heart torn out. People had their supsipitons on who did it but they had no proff. One rumor sugested his ex wife Mandy because he had been unfaithful to her. Some even suggested that one of the employees at the train station could have done it. Enjoying the ride sid my cousin jewels asked me. Sid was my nickname because my real name is so hard to pronouce. Yes very mutch so I said with a grin. I could here the raindrops hitting the train they sounded like bullets. They were then followed by a loud thud. What’s that granny shouted. Everyone stay calm the conductor told was as she went outside to se what was the matter. she toke her umbrella with her. AS she walked outside she noticed blood stains on the front of the train she thought it might have been a wild animal of some sort but it was something worse. It was the body of a woman. She was short about 5'2 with bleach blonde hair she was dressed very provactivly in a very short mini skirt and a crop top. Mybee she could have been a hooker. More people grew courious and went outside to see the scene that had unfolded. It was quite shocking nonetheless. She had been mangled very badly from the train. Everyone stay calm the conductor yelled I called the cops they are on there way. It toke the cops 20 minutes to get there. When they got there they found a purse on her so they looked inside it to see if she had any id. Her name was katlyn woods the conductors former mistress. She was such a whore I overheard a shaggy haired man mutter to himself. I’m guessing he was’ent to fond of her. From what I heard she did’ent have a very good reputation. She was’ent very nice I do hear she was somewhat snobby. Granny was so shocked at the site of the mangled body the her teeth feel out. She then picked them up and put them in her denture cleaning case. Damn it woman can’t you keep your teeth in my grandpa shouted. Oh chill it was an accident granny muttered. The body was then taken away for autopsy. It was still very nclear what she died of.

People began to talk about how mutch of a slut she was. A shaggy haired man said she had slept with a couple of his friends. She is so nasty he told me. The train began to move faster and faster as soon as we were all in it. However the conductor was not at how seat. Where was she? The phantom train kept on moving faster and faster.

What was controlling it. I’ve heard many people say it is haunted the spirt of the former conductor who was murdered in the controll rooms his murder was unsolved. Some people even suggested that he had been murdered by a hooker because he would often visit prositutes. Then suddenl the train had come to a complete stop. It stopped right in front of the cemetary where the murdered conductor was buried. His tomestone had the word slut carved into it i’m guessing his ex wife did it. The conductor came out of the bathroom apparently she was doing her hair and make up she toke great pride in her appearance. What’s going on? she asked. I told her about the train moving on it’s own. Well that’s odd she said. Then she told me it was not the first time it had happened. A week ago some high school girls were having a slumber party on the train and it just began to move. The girls were so freaked out that the left. She said the mudered conductor was’ant the onl spirt on the train someone had commited suicide as well but noone knew why the girl had done it. She also told me how people over the years keep saying there were stange winged creatures with the bodies of human but the had bird like wings and glowing red eyes. I never saw them but i heard all of the stories there were alot of strange thinga happening around the traintracks thing that could not be explained. It did scare me quite a bit. I asked the conductor if she had seen anything. She she saw a pair of glowing red eyes staring at her as she was finishing her route. It only lasted a few minutes then they dissappeared into the darkness. I’m guessing it was the winged creatures everyone was talking about. She managed to get the train started again then we were off. I overheard the shaggy haired man and my cousin pete talking about some porn movies the dead girl from eariler starred in when she was alvie of course. One of them had the fomrer condcutor in that’s proball his his wife Mandy found out about him cheating.

How on earth did anyone even like katlyn the man asked. I don’t know love is blind I guess pete said. He basically awnsered the question. A loud screech was heard coming from the woods. It was blood curdling and ear pricing. When the train dropped me off at my house I walked into the woods to see where the noice was coming from. My house was right by the traintracks. As I got deeper and deeper into the woods the noice grew louder and louder. As I approached a very large old hallow tree I noticed a nest perched of on one of it’s branches. The eggs were quite large like ostrage eggs. I heard the noice again only it was not coming from the large hallow tree. It was coming from somewhere else. I looked around to see the ground was stained with dry blood. But that was not the scraiest part of that evening. As I kept going deeper and deeper into the woods. I noticed I was being followed by a pair of glowing red eyes. I suddently turned around to see a terrifying half human half bird creature following me.

Perhaps it was trying to scare me off. It had the head and torso of a man but the wings and legs of a bird. It had blood dripping from it’s beak and some dripped onto my shoulder. I quickly ran as fast as I could back to my house. When I got back to my house I wiped the blood away. I called my nieghbor liz and told her what I had seen.

She did’ent seem to believe me at first she must have thought I was crazy. Then she heard her husband bob say he saw the exact same thing I did. I’m guessing it’s the samed winged beast I heard people talking about on the train. That night we went camping at the train station hoping to catch a glimpse of it. We lit a fire a fire outside a told some more ghost stories. Then people began talking about the dead girl from the other night. The one we found dead on the train tracks. Alot of people say she had an affair wiht the murderd conductor and his jealous wife had killed her in a fit of rage. His wife had no reason to be jealous of her. His wife Mandy was a very beatiful women. She was well built with an hourglass figue and long beatiful red hair. She had a perfect milky complextion and sapphire blue eyes. She could certainly do alot better the that idot conductor. Meanwhile a drunk half naked woman began running through the train yelling Who wants to fuck me! I very politly told her to quit down so we can here the ghost stories people were telling and also see the creature. However she did’ent listen to me. Piss off you stupid cunt she barked.

She then ran off into the darkness. Only seconds latter she came back out covered in some strange green goo. I was’ent quite sure what it was. I saw a gaint manbird she exclaimed. Everyone quickly rose to their feet and into the woods to look for it. We heard a earpricing screching sound but saw nothing it must have toke off. We went back the the train station to find bloody foot prints all over the place. The mirror in the bathroom had been broken and there were a few items missing. We caught a glipmse of a man running of with soap and towels from the bathroom. Could’ent he have just bought them they are not that expensive. We caught up with the man and asked why he had stolen them. He said he worked for the fbi and was taking them as evidence. When i got a better look at the items he had stolen I notices the same kind of green slime the drunk woman from earlier in the night had been covered in. Well ok you can have them we can just get more the conductor said but next ask if you can take them first. Oh yeah well take her shes covered in slime to the shaggy haired man said as he pointed to the drunk slime covered woman. The woman went with the man. we then watch a news report about the dead girl from the other night. We then heard a knock on the door of the train who could that be. We went to anwser it. It was granny. I heard some little slut got covered in goo she said. Yes she did granny i reassured her. Then we heard a loud scream Jesus what that! granny shouted at the top of her lungs.

We walked outside to see a woman getting tossed form the sky like a ragdoll. The half bird half man creature had her in it’s talents. It then threw her on top of the train. She was dead by the time she had landed on it. Then we saw a young man coming out of the woods with a flashlight. What’s all the comotion? he asked. We then explained to him what had happened. He then phoned for help. He explained he had been out camping with some friends when he heard a woman screaming. We then told him about the creatures. He then said he and his friend had seen one at on old abononed factory up north. It was a factory where the made novaltiy items such as glowsticks and glow in the dark noses. That would explain the errie green glow. It did’ent understand how all this creature talk tied in with the conductors murder. Then i began to think mybee he knew something about the creatures and someone did’ent want word of them to get out. The cops had arrived and toke the dead woman’s body to the morgue for an autopsy. The mortitain was kind of a wierdo. He would keep corpses in the house and play dress up with them. some say he engaged in necrophilla with some of the bodies but i don’t know how true it was. Alot of people claim they seen him do it though. The dead woman was covered with th errie green glow and had claw marks all over her body. It was pretty obvious the creature had killed her. There were also dead animals found drained of blood on farms. Farmers were often sitting on their porches with shotguns hoping to catch a glimpse of the creature. Meanwhile Mandy’s brother Randy had reported her missing she was been missing for three days. Some people said she had run away to escape all of the drama that was going on but her brother was very concerned about her. He showed up at my house and asked me if I had seen her I said no but i will keep a look out and let him know if I come across her. If anything I was guessing she might have toke a trip to the city. I went to the train station to see if they had seen her they have’ent but there were missing persons signs with her picture on them and a cash reward for her safe return. It was about $50,000 her family was very wealthy and owned sereral shops around the area even one that delt with the occult. Her brother Randy was facinated by that kind of stuff.

That night my cousin julie and I went camping and we heared a woman scream. It was our snotty cousin jen she had her arm torn off. We then called 911. She said she saw the monster and it had ripped her arm off. When the paramedics got there they were able to find her arm put it on ice and reatach it. We packed up out stuff and went back to the house to be safe. After an hour her arm had been reatached. The next moring we went to the train station only to find it covered in strange goo and a drunk half naked woman lying in a pile of it with a bottle of jack daniels in her hand. Woo some party that waws she muttered to herself as a shaggy haired man sat up right next to her. What happened? we asked. Oh well some thing a ma jig with wings crashed our party the drunk woman said. We then told them about what had happened to our cousin Jen. Oh no the man said is she ok? Yea I guess so I told them. She’s still in the hospital recoveing. The drunk woman wipped some of the errie green slime off of her and put it in a bag. She said she was going to mail it to a lab so they can detrime what it is. Latter that night jewels and i went to a bonfire. A few of my cousin got drunk and starting talking about the katlyn woods sex tape. One drunk thougt he saw something around the train station. Mandy was there with her brother she looked very alive and well. Where have you been jewels and I bothed asked her. She said she had been camping out in the woods when she was attacked by a gaint half man half bird creature the same kind that had attacked jen a few nights earlier. She said her brother Randy saw it as well. We asked her if she know any thing about her ex husbands death. She said she had no idea he was dead she assumed he had fled the country because he talked about doing so in the past. Do you know why he wanted to flee the country? I asked her. She said he got involed with some drug dealers and they were up to no good. She hugged me and my cousin and went back to the party. She also asked us to meet her at the train station afterward because she said she wanted to show us something. After the party we met her there. There were candles lit everywhere and a ouja broad out on the coffee table. She said she had wanted to contact the spirt of her dead husband. It sounded odd but we went with it. All of the sudden it began to move and the table started shaking. He here she said. Who killed you She asked his spirt but he would’ent give a name he just said it was a man in a dark robe that had murdered him and he knew something about the mysterious monsters that inhabited the area. Mybee someone killed him to prevent him from saying something. Then there was a moment of silence followed by a loud thud when the train began to move on it’s own then it was followed by a loud thud. Mandy told me to go out and see want it was. I walked outside only to see a bloody half naked woman I leaned in for a better look only to relize that it was the drunk slime covered girl from the other night. She had been slashed mutible times her througt was cut so deep she was nearly decapited. Her finger were also missing and her teeth had been knocked out. Hair was matted and covered in blood as well. I ran in and got the others. Mandy called the police and we very quickly blew out the candles and put the ouja broad away. By the time the cops had got there wild animals had started to get at her. The officer fired his gun to scare them off. The offiecer had found a note beside her dead body. The not said stop talking about the creatures.

Her body was then taken to the creepy mortitain ofr autopsy. After the officer was gone we went back in the train. We began to talke about katyln woods the murdered girl from a few nights ago. I was curoius if she knew anything about the monsters. Rumours said there were monsters that lived in sewers as well. I had no idea how true they were but the sewers below the train station always gave me the creeps. Plus I heard my friend Tasha say she saw one in a restroom at the train station a few years back. She said it was some kind of winged rat mixed with a reptile. Once again we heard screeching coming from outside the train it was so loud and earpricing some of the windows broke.

Once we looked outside we saw a policeman being tossed around like a ragdoll. He landed in a tree and managed to survive. Mandy then called 911. he was rushed to the hospital with only miner cuts and brusies. Wow he must be really tough I thougt to myself. Meanwhill my parents all came to the train station to find out what had happened. I noticed some cute weird mutated winged cats following my dad around. Some of them were green in color and some of them had two tales. Aw how cute I said. These damn mongrels have been following me around like some little lapdog! he excailmed. Relax dad there just cats I told him. Well mybees it’s that tuna you have in your pocket my mom said. Just give them the tuna. Alright if it’ll get them off my back he said as he gave them the tuna he had in his pocket. Soon enough the cats left my dad alone and went after the tuna. See that’s all they wanted dad i’ll get you some more and you can keep it in your luchbox instead. Then we told my parents what had happend.

Was it that winged monter man we have been hearin about? my mother asked. I think so I told her. Then we heard a loud thud followed by a screech. WE looked outside to see what it was. Mucth to our horror it was a a winged creature only this time it had a women’s body. She had long stringy hair large breast and long legs. She flew toward us really fast she then grabed me and threw me on top of the train. Then she went after Mandy. The shaggy haired man with us began to fired his gun but it did’ent fase her. She tore his shirt to shreds. Then he stabbed her in the ankle it only was a minor inconvience to her but it provided enough time for him to escape and run back into the train safetly. Everyone did the same. The train went a few miles up north were we picked up soem hitchiker. There were two girls and a guy. Where are you headed we asked. Just into town the man said. Were headed that way to I conclued. Great he responed as they entered the train. One of the girls got up to use the bathroom and a couple minutes latter we heared a loud scream it was her. I ran back to see what was the matter. I saw a tiny winged creature flying out of one of the toilets. It was bright green and the size of a hamster. Could this be the winged rodnets my friend Tasha said she saw. It puked a little bit of slime on us and some of it went down my shirt I was wearing a tank top. Some of it went down her shirt as well we were both wearing tank tops. We quickly got out of the bathroom and told everyone what we saw.

One of the guys went back to see it for himself but nothing was there it must have flew out the opened window. The guy gave us a funny look and left the bathroom. Then we heard a squiking noise followed by a knock on on the train door. Mandy awnsered it. It was Tasha she said her and her husband spotted some mutant winged rats flying out of the sewers. Her husband than began to tell us about his old job he had at a factory up north. It was a factory where they made novelty items such as glow in the dark noses and gaint fom fingers mostly seen at sporting evets such as football game even though I really never watched sports. He said that some toxic cemicials got into the mix.

The eldrey jantor had knocked it over by accident and some of it got into the sewers. The jantor had retired and now lives in a nursing home. There have been alot of mutant animals since the spill some with extra appendages. The farm since then has been shut down. The factory had remained aboned no one has visited it in several years.

People in the surrounded nieghborhood said they kept hearing strange noises but no one went over to investigate it. We went by the old abonaned factory and descided to check it out. we put on our jackets because it was cold and damp. The floors were stained with dried blood As if someone was murdred. We then foud a bloody ax. One of the girls with us let out a loud scream. What is it? i asked. she then
