    Humanity is a vulnerable state. Something I know plenty about. The year is nineteen thirty and what I am about to tell you will seem unbelievable.

    I was four years old when I had my first encounter with the night dwellers. The vampire. They whisked away one of the young girls of the village I lived in. They looked human to an extent save for the long ears, red eyes, and the pale complexion. When I was nine they killed my father.

    The Church sent a vampire hunter, experienced in slaying the undead. Their only weakness was church secret but I learned it - holy water. The vampire hunter used only the most sanctified water to slay vampires. He carried with him a drinking flask and it didn’t take much. The Holy water acted like an acid that didn’t stop when it began burning them.
