Tara Dawn T. Brown

Hello from your Neighbor Tara Dawn T Brown. I am so grateful for the blessings, adventure and, life God has chosen for me. Born in Mackenzie BC I moved over ten times by age 12. Most of my memories are from a small island off Vancouver Island. I met Jesus young and by age four knew I needed him in my life, I started to petition my elders for a child baptism. As I grew my trials became more difficult and my choices separating me from the truth. Gods merciful hand upon me was not evident without hindsight. By fifteen I was a new mother of a most blessed child. By 19 I was diagnosed with a thought disorder and diagnosed by the professionals as untreatable and destined for a life of Psychiatric care and serious medical treatments. Gods mercy was upon me. I sought a sound mind and education thus becoming an educator for recovery and a speaker encouraging others to the aim of education and hope. All praise to God who uses the broken for his purposes. I truly rejoice in all my trials knowing that our God is so faithful. If I do not give up, I see new mercies and times of refreshing woven into my life. As a survivor through mental illness I desperately need truth, unshakable truth to navigate through my false thoughts and remain steadfast. My life’s testimony is God is alive and well. He is the truth. He is the way. The teachings of the holy bible are real. Jesus of the Holy Bible is alive and wants us all. He says if you truly believe him, have his commands and follow him in them you will not be shaken. I hope we run this race to be as we should and share this unshakable truth with a world in darkness. Let us do all we can to save the lost the desperate and the deceived. The hope of my life is to hear those words by my Heavenly Father “Welcome home child well done."

Trust and Obey - Tara Dawn T. Brown

    What I have learned

What have I learned on this journey to have and obey Jesus’ commands is this:

    • I have learned that Jesus is the perfect judge, not I or any other. Matthew 25:31-46

    • I have learned that to sin in any way against His love is to sin in all ways. James 2: 10

    • God has no favorites. Romans 2:11-13

    • I have learned that it is by God’s loving grace alone that I am saved and not by works, so that I may boast only in his work in me. Ephesians 2:8-10

    • Yet faith without works is dead faith. James 2:14-26

    • I can continue desiring and actively seeking to be complete in his love-refined from every spot or wrinkle, into complete obedience to a loving walk of life with a living, intimate Creator. Ephesians 5:27

    • I can acknowledge Him in all my ways, knowing that He will direct my steps. Proverbs 3:5-6

    • I can become completely devoted in my every thought and action - my duty as a child of God. Luke 17:10

I am so grateful for this journey. Learning to know that what our King commands of us is not burdensome and shame filled. His commands are ripe with possibilities, and not only are they possible to achieve in Him but are also eternally rewarding. I can make my home with Him and be a partaker in His time, His care, His counsel, His friendship and in His loving but serious, merciful discipline.

I now have His commands and am moment by moment being refined into a life like His. What joy! What hope!

Even if I falter, He is there to build me up again and use me to bear fruit for our eternal Kingdom; one filled with brothers and sisters rejoicing and always loving God.

I have found over 1,000 commands in the New Testament. Others have calculated over a 1,000 as well, yet many are the same, just in different places. I hope you find any I missed.

I hope you seek God’s mercy and equipping daily - not just hearing the commands but being made right with God, seeking His grace and discipline to become the holy people He would have us be: complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work, 2 Timothy 3:17

There are 613 commands in the Old Testament to guide us in righteousness: all under God’s holy banner of love and mercy over sacrifice, completely for Him and for all humanity. Faith hope and love and the greatest of these is love. Love remains eternal.

Jesus himself said early in his ministry "Do not think I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them… Matthew 5:17

Now we can grow in Him, so not only is it still a command not to murder, but even more so to not even harbor anger for a brother. He is fulfilling His teaching on love from the Old Testament and maturing us with His New Testament in his merciful love. I hope you are blessed to be as excited as I am to be able to have God’s commands.

I love Him. If He were physically here my King of kings, I would like to do everything He would ask of me – perhaps to run unhindered to fetch Him a fish, to make Him clothes, or to send a message to His loved ones. I would like to give my very life for His needs.

So even though He is not visibly here, His words - His commands are. We as His believers have been blessed to have our Holy God’s Spirit with each breath, each moment, each day leading us into all truths.

"Holy Spirit, my God thank you for today; I pray that Your will, not mine is done.

Please help us to be refined in Your eyes and equipped in love with Your commands, that we will not be moved and will be ready for every blessed work You share with us as we mature in walking on Your narrow way home.

    In Jesus name, Amen"
