About this ebook
Experience a veteran police officers memoirs and see how his inner turmoil over his yearning for a father who always existed, his irreversible denial of life to a child of his own, and police-related tragedies that imprisoned him regained his freedom.
While finding his purpose in protecting and serving the community as a police officer, he endured the residual pains of his childhood and a painful regretful decision in his young-adult years. These are rekindled by unfortunate tragedies encountered in a professional and personal manner on the job.
After yearning for a father and vowing to protect the weak, he becomes emotionally torn with remorse when he has a spiritual enlightenment. He later sees the moral depravity of an act that had thrown away the gift of fatherhood and contradicted his vow to protect the weak. This enlightenment was compounded as he soon recognized he always had a father from the beginning in God, who had always protected him. With this revelation and the acceptance of Gods forgiveness in Gods grace by way of Jesus Christ, he found a strengthened character and peace within his soul, amid the temporal existence of this world and its chaos.

Acknowledgments
F irst and most importantly, I give thanks to the almighty God and honor to Jesus Christ, who sacrificed Himself for me. Therefore, I acknowledge my appreciation and adoration to God in the name of Jesus Christ with a commitment of 90 percent of the net proceeds of each book sold toward the following areas of contribution: sharing of the Word and love of Christ, advocating and support of child adoption, shelters for victims of domestic violence, and college scholarship funds for surviving children of fallen United States soldiers, police officers, corrections officers, and firefighters.
I thank my beautiful wife of twenty-four years for her support and encouragement; my father in-law and mother in-law for their frequent life and family counsel; my brothers and brother-in-law and sisters and sister-in-law for their encouragement; and my daughter and son, whom have time and time again made me proud to be their father. My heartfelt thanks go to my mother for her unconditional love and sacrifice.
Although it is our love that tends to waiver in the God-humanity relationship, God’s love and grace never changes. Similarly, it is the love of a parent, such as in mother-child relationships, that very rarely changes. For just as in the God-humanity relationship, it is the parent in the parent-child relationship that the mother comes to know the child before the child knows her whom comes to give immediate earthly life to the child. With that said, in spite of the sacrifice and trials that she had endured, while and sometimes as a result of raising my siblings and me, mom’s love for us never waivered, but instead propelled her perseverance. It was my later reflection on my observations of her sacrifice and sufferings that I come to know my mother and the love she has for me. To me, her actions were and are indicative of the scriptures that mentions, This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us…
(1 John 3:16) And as for her, my mother, she has finally found, as the Lord willed, in her life, her true earthly knight and shining armor whom lays down his life for her, her recent God sent husband. And for that, I also praise the Lord. Mom, I love you.
I thank my earthly father, whom I so admire for his courage to connect with Christ and to be not only my father but also my brother in Christ. Dad, I love you.
A great thanks and appreciation go to the senior preacher, the leadership team, and the brothers and sisters of my home church and to those of the greater church. Last, but never least, I thank my fellow brothers and sisters in uniform, with whom I have a great bond and for whom I have unbounded appreciation.
Preface
W e all have a purpose in life, whether it is to exist to die or to exist to live. What we do with that life before we die is the question. We can search for the answer for a second or for all of our days, but if we are looking in the wrong places or
