    For My Children

Sorry for the reams of white

I often felt compelled to write.

Discard them if you feel you must

I could not let them turn to dust.

They span my youth and now my fall

As tho’ the middle never existed at all.

I relive my thoughts and even more

Recall the settings and clothes I wore.

Dark and brooding though they may be

They represent only one part of me.

The other part had dreams and hope

And I had the courage to grow and cope -

    And so must you.

    Yesterday is a dream…

    Did it really exist?

    Today is real -
