About this ebook

Miyonda Carter was once a new Christian, fresh from the sinful sea of life in the world. While attempting to grow in the Lord and learn the protocols of the church, Miyonda was full of zeal and passion as she embraced a new beginning as a born-again believer. Unfortunately it did not take long before she was introduced to the reality that everything she was learning in the Bible was not being exhibited within the church.

In a collection of poems, prayers, and stories, Miyonda reflects on her personal journey as she discovered her spiritual gifting, grew in God, and learned to accept his unfailing love. While also focusing on helping others grow and strengthen their own intimate relationships with the Lord, Miyonda explores how the journey of a believer can be discouraging at times while providing encouragement and hope for spiritual seekers craving deep introspection that goes beyond the shallowness of regular church services and weekly Bible studies.

A Prophet’s Cry shares inspirational poems, prayers, and personal stories that will lift others up to embrace God’s power and grace and break the barriers that stand between us and an intimate relationship with our Father.

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

I would like to take this time to honor those who have played a significant part in my life, walking through this process and the journey that has allowed me to come to this place.

To my family and especially my children. Aside from the Holy Spirit, you all have been my greatest inspiration. Because of your support and commitment, I can be successful in every walk of life. I thank you for your strength, your wisdom, and most of all your unconditional love. Without your support, this would not be possible.

To my mother, Elizabeth Anty. I could never repay you for all the love and support you have shown to me over a lifetime. It is because you introduced me to the Lord as a child that I am who I am today. I want to take this opportunity to tell you how much I love and value the mother you have been to me and my brother over the years. You were a single mother raising your children to the best of your ability, and I can only pray that my very first book will allow you to see the legacy that God used you as a vessel to bring forth in the earth to help establish his kingdom and reveal his heart for such a time as this. Know that A Prophet’s Cry is the fruit of your labor, heartaches, tears, pains, and tribulations of life in the natural and the spirit so God could bring forth his mouth piece. It is amazing how when God was ready to bring forth salvation, healing, deliverance, and restoration, he found a woman by the name of Elizabeth, who birthed John the Baptist, the Prophet of God who would announce the coming of the Messiah, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There is something very special about a woman whom God has chosen and entrusted to bring forth and care for his prophetic mouthpiece in a world in desperate need of hearing the voice of God. I say that you too, Elizabeth Anty, were handpicked and chosen by our heavenly Father to carry, care for, and birth a vessel with a prophetic voice called to bring forth deliverance like never before. May God’s blessing continue to overshadow you.

To Dr. Tyronne Carter. The contribution that you have made in my life over the years has caused me to grow and develop beyond what I could even imagine. I thank you for everything you have done in your ability to help push me and the children to our greatest potential. I pray that as you hold this book in your hand, you experience the joy that I feel by completing one of my many kingdom assignments. There were times that it seemed like this birthing would never take place because of the continuous warfare, but it is finished and is only the beginning. Thank you for causing me to press into my greatest potential and for being a wonderful father.

To Apostle Arthur Lee and Alberta Williams. Your ministry has been a blessing to me since day one. There are no words to express the value of the wisdom you have imparted into my life.

To Apostle Alvin and Pastor Georgia Deal. I thank you both for countless hours and efforts over the years of counsel and relentless teaching of the unadulterated Word of God. It has been a pleasure to serve you both.

To Pastor Christopher B. Thomas. I cannot begin to thank you for all the wisdom and knowledge that you have poured into me and my children. It has been an honor and an esteemed privilege to sit at the many tables and partake of such a powerful teacher’s anointing. Thank you for the countless hours you spent in the classroom enlightening my understanding on biblical interpretation. I am so grateful for the impartation that you bestowed upon my life.

To Pastor Jacqueline Smith. You have been a mother in Zion, unselfishly giving your time, talents, and prayers to me and my family. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

To Pastor Tony and Joanie Foster. You both are an inspiration to me. I thank you for being who you are in God and doing what he has called you to do. The two of you are rare jewels in the kingdom, and you will always be so dear to my heart.

To Apostle John Eckhardt. You have mentored me with your many books and conferences. They have been life-altering for me. I thank you for pouring into my life and helping to groom me in my prophetic calling. Your leadership and teachings over the years continue to bring clarity and comfort. I am grateful for the prayers and blessings you released over this manuscript at Write It 2017.

To Apostle Ron and Hope Carpenter. It was an honor to sit under and serve leaders like you, who continually stretched and challenged the potential and gifts within me. You both are keys that unlock the hidden treasures that God has placed inside of his people. You are truly pastors after the heart of God. I bless our heavenly Father for giving me the opportunity to glean from your experiences, wisdom, and teachings.

To my pastors, John and Aventer Gray. Your saying yes to God in moving to South Carolina and starting Relentless Church has brought forth a travail that has caused birthing to begin to take place in a region. Thank you both for your obedience to answering the call of God to lead, unlock, and propel a people into purpose and destiny. It has taken a relentless anointing
