My Talk To My Son
On August 7, 1997 my son cried out loud,
Seeing you come into this world, made me feel proud. There was never a doubt or a maybe,
I knew you were my baby.
When I first saw your smile,
I was so glad that you were my child.
Before you came into my life, I would sit and ponder, Of how life makes you wonder.
If life is worth living,
When all you seem to do is to be giving.
Half the time, in my mind, I felt like I was losing, Because everything was so confusing.
Just when I had put everything aside,
You came along and gave me back my pride.
It was not so much your smile that made me glad, But the thought that one
