Receiving the Healing Gift in MS: My Journey from Separation to Union after a Diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis
()
About this ebook
Receiving the Healing Gift in MS shares Mounina’s firsthand journey as she became curious and began to study herself, life, and healing. And after three years of denial, she opened herself to the message the universe was trying to deliver. She allowed her life to fall apart and then surrendered to it. She discovered that MS was a gift for her, because it led to her healing.
To heal is to receive with simplicity whatever life brings to your doorstep. To heal is to change from the inside out, become your authentic self, and raise your vibration. And to heal is to forgive the past and create a new future. When we partner with the universe, we become experts at solving life’s problems.

Foreword by Marie Lise Labonté
I met Mounina during a training on the body I was offering in the Dominican Republic. She introduced herself as a yoga teacher. During the week, I noticed she had problems with both speaking and walking. Having had in my practice patients suffering from multiple sclerosis, I recognized that Mounina was suffering from this disease, even though she had not informed me.
Then, one morning, she did not show up for the training. I let her rest. When she arrived at the end of the afternoon for the other portion of the training, I decided to ask her about her state. Mounina admitted that she had hidden the fact that she was suffering from this disease. Having healed myself of an autoimmune disease, Mounina came to seek comfort and learning from me.
However, to my astonishment, she was in denial of her disease and had even stopped her medication, thinking that being close to me would heal her. I was greatly surprised by her naivety regarding the healing process. Even though we talked about the importance of medication and acceptance of MS, Mounina was not ready to face her state. There was, at that time, refusal, rebellion, and stubbornness in her.
During the week of the training, Mounina had a severe relapse of her disease. My team and I helped her, brought her to the clinic, and had her sent back to Montreal, Canada. It is through this difficult challenge that I got to know her and recognize her for her courage and determination. Mounina’s relapse was due to suddenly stopping her medication. It is through this situation that Mounina gently started changing her attitude.
Afterward, Mounina was always present at the public teachings I was giving in Montreal, and we would talk about her evolution. I highly recommended she take the necessary medication to help her, to not judge what was necessary for her, and mainly, to avoid any relapse, if possible.
Mounina agreed to take her medication to feel better and continue her evolution—her inner healing. Over time, as she was training with me and other members of my team, I could observe how much Mounina was evolving in accepting the physical imprisonment this disease can create, but mostly in recognizing the emotional and mental symptoms imprisoning her life force. I witnessed her transformation, her choices, her courage, her love, and her inner healing.
Mounina was taking more and more the individuation path, recognizing herself to the point of writing a very poetic book describing her learnings and her evolution with MS.
I hope this book will be a source of inspiration for all, as is its author Mounina. May you be inspired by its poetry and its depth, and do not hesitate to share it with others.
Congratulations, Mounina.
With love,
Marie Lise Labonté
Questions
Can I open myself to the possibility of an Infinite Loving Intelligence guiding and orchestrating this whole universe?
Can I listen to the wisdom of my divine body?
Can I allow the wisdom of my emotions?
Can I receive the wisdom of my conscious and unconscious mind?
Can I trust in the divine wisdom of my soul?
Blessing
May all beings be healthy, happy, holy.
May all beings be peaceful.
May all beings feel the simple joy of being alive.
May all beings be free from suffering.
The Guest House
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

Introduction
This true story tells my very personal journey from being very sick to being healthy, healed, and whole. This book is my journey of transformation from separation to union after a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. This is my very personal and unique way to health. We are all different. The challenge is to honor our own unique paths.
Looking back now, I can only see Infinite Intelligence guiding my every step. I did not plan any of this. I simply could not have, even though my ego would certainly like to take the credit. I can never give myself a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, and I can’t heal myself from multiple sclerosis. I can only allow myself to heal. Infinite Intelligence can do it all! I feel humble.
Something much greater than me, much more powerful than me, and much more loving than I could ever be is at play. I like to call it life, lovingly, my queen. I am only learning, more and more every day, to surrender to her. It was all perfectly and divinely orchestrated.
Everyone is different and unique. We all are spiritual beings, having a brief and precious human experience. May we honor our unique paths. May we love and respect ourselves, each other, and this precious life.
Everything in this book is about what I learned in the past and what I continue to learn today. This book is a love story. This book is about how I fell in love with myself, how I fell in love with my body, and how I fell in love with life! This book is to invite you to fall in love with yourself, fall in love with your body, and fall in love with life! This book is divided in three main sections. I believe healing requires three essential steps.
The first step in healing is acceptance of whatever life brings to our doorsteps. This is easy to say, but in truth, it is a learning journey. It requires patience and compassion toward ourselves. It certainly did not happen all at once for me. It is an ongoing process. Acceptance is an essential step to move forward. It is so important. It is not easy, but it is crucial! I believe acceptance is the first step to move through any situation.
The second step in healing is change. We literally become someone else. The disease was in one version of the person. We become a new person—we become our authentic selves. We change as a whole—we change our bodies, our emotions, and our minds, thus changing our energy and raising our vibration.
This second step is unique to each person. I believe we all need to change. What and how we change is unique to each person. The symptoms of multiple sclerosis are unique to each person. We don’t find two same manifestations of the disease. I believe each person has something unique to heal and to change. Each person gets a specific message relating to her or his own individual life. There are some commonalities, as well as some specificities.
The third step in healing is forgiveness. We release the past. In this last step, we move forward free from the past. We create a new future as a new person.
These three steps become a way of being. We accept and allow life now and forever after. We flow with life because life is change. We forgive. This is my new way of being. Again, and again I accept, I allow, and I love life. I go with the flow of life, and I forgive.
