Heavenspeak: The Language of the Spirit
()
About this ebook
When we attend to Gods Word, His promises to us throughout scripture, when we speak that Word out in faith that He will see to it coming to pass in our lives, we are using our Heavenspeak. Merrilynn Grodecki offers encouragement in this area to the body of Christ through personal testimony and the ongoing process of renewing our minds to the truth of the Word of God.
Merrilynn Grodecki
Throughout her years serving in the ministry of Christian education, as both a teacher and headmaster, Merrilynn Grodecki has championed her passion for seeing Gods people step into that grace-enhanced, mountain-moving, peace-filled life that is theirs in Christ. In her previously published devotional, Gods Beloved Daughters, and now in her latest book, Heavenspeak, she encourages and exhorts the body of Christ to walk daily in their covenant rights as citizens of the kingdom of God, led by His Spirit, standing on His Word.

INTRODUCTION
This is because I have never spoken on my own authority or of my own accord or as self-appointed, but the Father Who sent Me has Himself given me orders [concerning] what to say and what to do. And I know that His commandment is [means] eternal life. So whatever I speak I am saying [exactly] what My Father has told Me to say and in accordance with His instructions.
John 12:49-50
Overcoming Idle, Inoperative and Powerless Words
Words can build up or tear down. They can pour out kindness, encouragement, and edifying thoughts, or they can diminish, cripple and wound. Your words clearly define your heart condition. They can be tools for good or weapons for evil. They are powerful little packages that carry within their use a strong indicator of their origin, their birthplace. Do they emanate from a deep well of compassion and wisdom and love or from a brackish pool of self-indulgence, foolishness, or evil intent? Do they reflect, represent, and honor God, or effectively advance the forces of rebellion attempting to weaken, tear down, and bring to naught God’s kingdom purposes? Words are like seeds, whose potential harvest in a life can be deadly or life-giving. Given their extraordinary influence, we need to give careful attention to the manner in which we affect our lives and the lives around us with the words we choose to speak.
But I tell you, on the Day of Judgment men will have to give account for every idle (inoperative, nonworking) word they speak. For by your words you will be justified and acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned and sentenced. (Matthew 12:36-37)
We are made in the image and likeness of our Heavenly Father (Genesis 1:26) Who "speaks of the nonexistent things that [He has foretold and promised] as if they [already] existed" (Romans 4:17). He spoke this world into existence (Genesis 1) and everything that we see was created through that Word (John 1:3).
More than that we have been given an authority that we seldom fully walk in:
- You made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet. (Psalm 8:6)
- Then Jesus called together the Twelve (apostles) and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases. And He sent them out to announce and preach the kingdom of God and to bring healing. (Luke 9:1-2)
- For you have put everything in subjection under his feet. Now in putting everything in subjection to man, He left nothing outside of man’s control. But at present we do not yet see all things subjected to man. (Hebrews 2:8)
-…our power and ability and sufficiency are from God. (2 Corinthians 3:5)
Submitted to God, immersed in His Word, obedient to the leading and counsel of the Holy Spirit, and walking out in the authority that our Father says is ours through faith in Jesus, we are to take and exert dominion in our lives. This is accomplished through faith; through God’s Word spoken out in faith that it will come to pass. Jesus is our example in this:
Whatever I speak I’m saying exactly what My Father has told Me to say. (John 12:50)
We mature into this practice by degree through the ongoing discovery of His "alive and full of power […active, operative, energizing and effective]" Word (Hebrews 4:12). It truly is accomplished through practice and experience; through speaking forth God’s Word in faith and observing the results, in our lives and the lives of others. It is also accomplished through purposeful time in, and study of, the
