A Powerless Theology

About this ebook
But he answered and said, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
—Matthew 4:4
For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
—Hebrews 4:12
These words are God’s words, and their intent was and still is 100 percent of what is stated. However, when they are taught by someone who is not (at that moment) being led by God’s Spirit, some of the intent and importance there to be understood is lost to other opinion and ideology that sometimes is not even relevant to the purpose and power of God. The pastors, according to my own heart, which God spoke of in Jeremiah 3:15 are vital to the growth and development of God’s people.
This book, A Powerless Theology, points to the necessity of knowing and speaking God’s words. This book also casts a bright light on the difference that would and should exist in the lives of all mankind if we would learn, believe, meditate on, imagine, and talk about what God said in his Word about us!

This book is dedicated to my lovely wife, Artie (Jill) Davis, whom I have been married to now for thirty wonderful years. Her love and dedication to me have been two of the greatest treasures that my heart has ever known. It is also dedicated to my two wonderful children, Tymirria Artiece Davis, and Titus Jamal Davis, and last but not least, my daughter/niece, Alexia Bates, to whom all I say yet again, God has put greatness in you, so always let him shine through!
Foreword
The life of a born-again Christian can be described as consisting of three phases. The first phase is the point at which one is saved; this is the justification phase. The justification phase is where we are freed from the penalty of sin. The second phase is the sanctification phase where, on a daily basis, we strive to be freed from the power of sin in our lives. The third phase is the glorification phase where we are freed from the presence of sin.
In A Powerless Theology, Reverend Davis focuses on how fully understanding God’s Word and his promises can help us to live in the fullness of God’s power in our lives. All too often, the manner in which we live our lives is less than what has been promised by God’s Word. As you explore this book, you will understand how all that God has purposed for us can be manifested by faith.
Reverend Davis is one who has lived a purpose-filled life. He started his Christian journey at an early age. He was taught as a child that Bible study was the way to experience God’s purpose for and power in our lives. As you read this book, you will understand how God has used Reverend Davis to bring his people closer to him. God’s Word as revealed in A Powerless Theology strengthens believers and helps one to live a life that has been ordained by God. Faith in God’s Word Leads to a life fulfilled.
I am confident that you will enjoy this book. It will enlighten you as to how a powerless theology can block the path
