(Joshua 1:8 NLT)
The purpose of Life Skills 101: The Race is to teach you over 8-weeks of interactive study sessions, how to successfully navigate ones life journey using seven (7) basic life principles and skills. Life is a journey that can be considered a race. It has a start and one day it will end. You are the driver of your lifes race. This race will involve twists, turns, curves, bad and good road conditions, victories, successes, mistakes, rejections, approvals, failures, lessons and most importantly other drivers or participants. Your experience during your race will be determined by your attitudes, beliefs, expectations, behavior, knowledge, wisdom, thoughts and perspectives.
Additionally, you will need a guide or Leader (Team Leader) and both relational and social connections which are parents, mentors, coaches, counselors, advisors, teachers and friends. Equally important, during your lifes race is utilizing pit stops, skills, talents, priorities, goals, dreams, action steps, strategies and resources.
You need to know that during your journey or race, you will be processed, pruned, developed and refine if you are willing and humble enough to submit to the process. Moreover, you will learn during your race that there is a God and choosing Him as your Team Leader will make all the difference in how well you navigate and end your race.
This training consists of video or PowerPoint lessons and a printed participant workbook.

DEDICATION
SHURMON CLARKE
To God who has created, gifted and sustains me through my life’s journey.
To my mother, Carolyn Evans, who introduced me to God, the church and first believed in my potential.
To my father, James Thompson who taught me the value of knowledge and education.
To my family: Wendal (husband) and my children, Wendal Jr, Jayvyn and Madison, my three most precious gifts from God.
To Pastor, C. J. Beckles for teaching me the beauty and power of studying God’s word and helped me to discover my ‘strengths’ (www.gallupstrengthscenter.com).
To my Pastor Glen C. Russell and my friend, Ruby Pinder for assisting and providing me with the platform to discover my instinct and destiny.
To the mentors, coaches, teachers, advisors God placed in my life to influence and helped me whether directly or indirectly to realize my potential, my gifts, provide knowledge and training, and help me discover God’s purposes for my life. Some of these mentors and coaches are Sonovia Hanna (my spiritual mother), Laquita Collie, Sharon Greene, Evelyn Pinder-Dames, Billie Bowe, Randy Thompson, Larry Kelly, Michael Hyatt, Priscilla Shirer, Beth Moore, Dr. Myles Munroe, Bishop T.D. Jakes and John Maxwell.
To Team Bain (Body-4-EVER), my exercise trainers, who taught me the value of discipline, self-control, proper mindset and accountability (fill your cup
and to own it
).
To my sisters (Monique, Michelle, Athina, Alexis and Karis), brothers (Kieyros, Kwasi and Jason), other family members and friends (confidantes, constituents and comrades) especially Torry, Ruby, Ruth and Deana who support, listen, advise, encourage and pray for me. Thank you all so much.
DEANA GLINTON-WILLIAMSON
To my one and only Heavenly Father who has graciously allowed me to still be here on the face on this earth, I say thank you. Words are not enough to express my gratitude.
To my earthly dad, Wesley Glinton, who always taught me to never settle for mediocrity, and to speak up for injustice whenever possible. You’re accredited for my tenacious spirit.
To my one and ONLY child, Alexander Rasheed, you are my special gift from God, and my number one fan. You compel me to be the best that I can be. Continue to check me.
To my mother, Angeline Glinton, who showed me all my life that it is better to give than to receive. She’s responsible for my giving spirit.
To all my sisters and other relatives, friends like siblings, and my pastor, C.J. Beckles, who have supported me in being myself, I love you for letting me be me! Thank you all.
