Preface
I feel so excited to help you break free of bullying because it means my dream to help all of those who truly need it—regardless of race, gender, nationality, or age—has finally come to fruition. Through my pain; the pain of loved ones, including my children; and the pain of friends, I have gotten to speak the truth about this very distressing part of life. I have carefully and delicately told my and others’ true-life stories in order to explain how the agony and heartache of bullying have affected our lives. Moreover, this book will address how we have moved from pain and into prosperity through deliberate mindfulness awareness.
Breaking Free of Bullying began when my own career as a teacher was threatened after twenty years of loyal service. A boss deemed me an unprofessional teacher and saw my job performance as unsatisfactory after only two years as principal. I began to feel targeted when the principal constantly asked me to come into her office for discussions that had to do with complaints
from parents and staff members. The principal used me as a scapegoat at that time to further her own agenda to climb the corporate ladder to the district office. I was an easy target because I was an outspoken liberal who fought against injustices as a union representative.
Breaking Free of Bullying is an interactive book for children, teenagers, and adults who feel bullied in some way or another. This book will ask you poignant questions that should provoke deep reflection. This book will allow you to write out your feelings, ideas, and imagined details through deliberate thinking. Likewise, this book will give you an opportunity to express the true emotions you experience with those who bully you.
Breaking Free of Bullying explains in great detail the true-life stories of people who have gone through bullying in school, in the workplace, at businesses, and even in positions of tenure. You will soon understand that you are not alone in this unfair world, and hopefully, you will connect with one or more of the characters in this book and appreciate how they broke free of the bullying in their lives.
Breaking Free of Bullying discusses in detail how moving forward in your quest for a bully-free life takes practice, courage, and risk. Moreover, it also discusses how not moving forward can create more pain in your life. It provides examples so you get a clear picture of what happens when you do not take action and move forward in the right aligned direction.
Finally, Breaking Free of Bullying discusses in brief the philosophy and meaning of mindfulness education (ME) and how research-based evidence proves it beneficial in reducing stress, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. The end of the section provides various mindfulness strategies and techniques you can use immediately to alleviate anxiety, pressures, and insecurities you feel due to bullying. Daily use of ME will allow you to practice the art of thinking for yourself and to begin to listen to your heart-self, which wants to free you of pain and reward you with prosperity.
I hope you find this book helpful in breaking free of the bullying you experience. It is important to me that you reach a blissful state of prosperity. You deserve all that is good in life!
