    FOREWORD

    Dear Reader,

I am honored to have the opportunity to share my thoughts on Reflections with you. I’m very proud of my mother’s courage and dedication to have written this book. Her journey has taught me how to become a better parent and has simultaneously helped me become a better person.

My mother and I have always loved and cared for each other deeply, but somehow over the years we managed to create unnecessary conflicts and bitterness toward each other. Then one day, unknown to me, she made a life decision to put an end to the suffering she was experiencing in our relationship. It was the first time in her life, as she later confided, that she surrendered to God and desperately asked for His help. God did answer her request. He guided her through a healing process that she openly shares in her book, Reflections. Miraculously, as her life began to improve, much to my surprise, my life began to improve as well. The irony is that I discovered the details of her process only once I read her book.

One important piece of wisdom I’ve learned in Reflections is that self-love is the foundation that sets our life’s path. If we don’t love ourselves, we repeatedly attract people and situations in our lives that remind us of why we don’t love ourselves.

My mother has taught me how to be a great parent. Her generous spirit and unwavering love have guided me to become a better person. Over the years, I’ve observed her dedication to bring meaning to her life and to live her life’s purpose. I’ve always held a great deal of admiration for her. Now that I look back, I wish I would have told her that more often.

So many powerful divine messages, tools, and wisdom are included in Reflections. I’m convinced that once you’ve read this book, you’ll have an urge to reevaluate your beliefs about what parenting truly means for you.

I’m confident you too can heal the relationship with your kids. I now genuinely believe that keeping an open heart will heal any conflict. It’s such a fantastic feeling to have a harmonious relationship with my mother. It energizes me and makes me feel so much more confident and alive. I would encourage every parent to read Reflections, as it will bring purpose and meaning to the important role your children play in mirroring your inner world.

Thanks, Mom, for being the loving soul that you are. You’ve saved my life more than once, and I love you more than words can describe.

    Your son,

    Shawn

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

I thank my son, Shawn, for choosing me to be his mother in this lifetime. He has helped me reconnect with my inner divinity, the greatest gift of all.

Infinite gratitude goes to my two loving grandchildren, who have brought so much joy and love into their father’s life as well as into mine. You have been angels sent from heaven.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my loving husband, Al, for the unconditional love and support he has provided me and my son for the past twenty-five years. Al, you are truly an inspiration for me.

I would like to express my sincerest appreciation to Diane for the dedication and ongoing support she provided me during the writing of this book.

I thank Pierre and Claude for their valuable feedback, which helped me better communicate my message to the readers.

I thank my dear parents for reflecting the lessons I chose to learn during this incarnation. You were the perfect parents to help me understand what I didn’t want and what I did want in my life.

I thank all the authors of the hundreds of books I’ve read, the speakers and facilitators who have helped me along my spiritual journey. You have been phenomenal teachers and mentors for me. Thank you for your unconditional love and devotion to making our world a better place, one person at a time.

Thank you to Nicola Reilly, who has been my yoga mentor with her twenty-one day Yoga Online Retreat Program, www.ForeverFitYoga.com. You helped me release the stress that I was unconsciously carrying in my body all those years. I now feel so much freedom within my body.

Thank you, Melanie Beckler, www.ask-angels.com, for channeling the empowering angel messages. These guided meditations have helped me open my heart and connect with my divine essence.

A special thanks to Robert Haig Coxon, www.roberthaigcoxon.com. I listened to your music Cristal Silence I, II, and III throughout the writing of this book. Your music deeply touched my heart and soul.

I would also like to thank Jeni and Matti Stepaneck for allowing me to include the poem HeartSong in my book. Matti’s energy and message of peace have always remained with me. I’m sure he is thrilled that his message is still very much alive and that it continues to spark the peace within all our hearts.

Thank you, Saski Davis, for your generous and kind spirit and for granting me permission to use your poem The Signs and Symptoms of Inner Peace. You’ve inspired millions of people to understand the benefits that a peaceful heart can bring to this world.

Thank you, Robert Paul Gilles, for allowing me to include your poem To Let Go Takes Love in Reflections. Your poem captured the essence of the message being conveyed in chapter 4, How to Uncover Deeply Rooted Fears. I sincerely appreciate how you willingly and without any hesitation agreed to have your poem included in my book. I deeply felt your devotion to serving others.

Thank you Evelyn Beausoleil for the beautiful drawing that you created for the cover page of this book. It truly captures the essence of the book.

A very special thank you to the divine beings that guided me and continue to guide me throughout my life’s journey. Thank you for lifting my vibration so I could be a clear messenger of your teachings.

    INTRODUCTION

Does your relationship with your son or daughter lack a sense of respect and trust? Are you constantly worried that something will happen? Is your relationship often filled with conflict? Have you tried everything to make things right?

The most important question I would like to ask you is, Have you had any success in healing your relationship? If the answer is no, then as a parent I genuinely feel tremendous compassion for you. I can absolutely identify with the anxiety and frustrations you must have encountered or are still encountering.

For many years I experienced significant problems with my son. I can relate to what it’s like to feel victimized, drained, fearful, guilty, and angry toward your child, teenager, or adult child.

I took me a long time to understand that to bring harmony, love, and respect to my mother-son relationship, I had to go within and reevaluate my belief system of what good parenting really meant to me.

This book will introduce you to a new paradigm for parenting. It will show you how conscious parenting can help you connect with your true essence and become the best version of yourself. It will offer you the opportunity to open the doors of your heart to reveal the true meaning of your relationship with your son or daughter.

Like most people, I learned to be a parent by observing my own parents. I modeled their values and beliefs for quite some time. I measured my success as a parent against a set of values and beliefs that my parents advocated but couldn’t always live up to.

I learned important values from my parents that have served me well. However, their beliefs were not always aligned with who I was or with the person I wanted to be. By going within, I realized that I had reached a point in my life that I needed to rethink what parenting truly meant for me. This was the first step
