Lynn Billingsley-Dulan
My name is Lynn Victoria Billingsley-Dulan. I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1947. My age group is known as the “Baby Boomers”! My father was a sailor! I was taken away several times by relatives and ended up in the Mainland being raised by my grandmother. I helped her take care of her mother until she passed. I had many interests throughout my life. The old saying, “A Jack of all trades and a master of none,” comes to mind. It fits me. I lived on a farm for six years and learned about hard work, plus animals. Later, I worked in two zoo’s! My grandmother showed me how to sew. I sew, paint and draw some. I never thought of myself as a writer, but I have a lot of writings. Some are like songs. Not to mention a variety of jobs through my life. But none as long and hard as caring for my son. I ended up dedicating the rest of my life to him and now I dedicate this book to his life!

02-Final%20Jason%20My%20Special%20Angel%20Picture.jpgHeaven’s Windows
As we drove, I looked for Heaven’s Windows
With a song in my heart and a memory in my mind.
Tears rolling down my cheeks turned to raindrops as clouds formed pictures!
When God came calling you, I had to turn loose and let you go.
(Now I just look for Heaven’s Windows).
If only I could see your smile looking back from Heaven!
The sun would burst forth through the clouds.
Then I would feel the warmth of your smile shining down on me.
With every memory in my mind and every song I hear,
That feeling reappears in my heart and then comes more tears.
It just keeps raining along with my tears.
Ever since God came calling you, I had to let you go and
Now all’s that left is me looking for Heaven’s Windows!
I MISS MY SON; now he’s an angel. I have wonderful memories of him and I want to share them with the world. He was born pretty much a normal boy. He was a breach birth and later on he had asthma. Besides that, he was an average kid, with all the same hopes and dreams as other children.
Of course being his mother, I would tend to brag on any of his accomplishments, that’s normal for me right?

So why do I want to tell his story? I believe it may hold some value to others. You see, he was the youngest person to ever be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. In fact because of his age, they named it JUVENILE ALZHEIMER’S. He was only 10 ½ years old when the forgetfulness started. At first, you sort of treat it like any problem with a child. I thought he was using it as an excuse. Then it showed up in his school work. He knew his multiplication better than me. The school said he didn’t know them at all!
Finally, with the help of my motherly intuition, I started sneaking around, watching him play with his friends, only to discover that he was forgetting things that a boy would not normally forget.
Alarmed that something was wrong with my son, I alerted his older brothers, but couldn’t explain what seemed at the time to be just a feeling.
Little did I know that his life was about to take a turn of no return. That his life would change the course of my life forever. It was the start of making decisions I never thought I would ever have to make or I was even capable of.
To fully understand this, I would have to tell you the details leading up to this moment. I am left with the reflections of his life, my life included. I knew he would have to leave us one day, I just never knew when. As his life begins, I had two boys and nine years later Jason would come into the world. This is the beginning of the story.

I divorced his father when Jason was five. I cannot say that was a good idea. Nevertheless, Jason and I moved to my birthplace, Hawaii. That year, Jason met his grandmother, my mother, for the first time, and my brother Gary, better known as Dino. He became his favorite uncle. He taught Jason how to dance and
