About this ebook
An ordinary day has turned into a nightmare for Beverly, who now finds herself horrified to be standing on a dark road with no answers. She is helpless as she stares upon the crashed vehicle which has her husband, the love of her life, trapped inside. While she stands frozen with uncertainty about her future, she travels back in time to recall the many obstacles she and Jason have overcome before this moment. From the time they fell in love as young teenagers to the eight years of separation that challenged their bond, Jason and Beverly held many treasured memories together. Beverly has heard Jason say that good, bad, happy and sad are all part of life that is faced each and every day. His words ring truer than ever at this time, in which she cannot get the answer from anyone that she so desperately longs to hear. Is he okay? Will they be able to continue their happily ever after and create many more memories, or has this one moment changed everything and forced their story to write its ending?

To my husband and the many friends in my life who have inspired me in so many ways.
Acknowledgments
First to my husband, Jason, who taught me how to love myself and have confidence in the person I am. He taught me how to overcome situations and find the positives in life. Without him, I would not be where I am today.
Also to Darrell and Kitty Dumas, who have been true friends through the good times and the bad. Darrell, being Jason’s best friend, also taught me a lot and helped me through a lot of bad situations. Darrell and Kitty were there when I needed them the most. Much love, respect, and appreciation is sent out to them.
To Duane and Diane Ritter, who also took over in a situation that not just anyone was qualified for, or willing to do. They have stood by me and have been my friends through everything the past several years.
To my friends Aaron and Rosemary Lavy, who have also been there when I needed them. I know I could call them anytime and they would not hesitate to help me. They are loved and appreciated more than they could imagine.
To Aaron Lavy, James Martin, Duane Ritter, and other members of the church for building my new grooming shop. All the money in the world could never repay each of you, but I would like the entire world to know how much you mean to me. With heartfelt thanks I say, Thank you for being a friend.
To my newly found friends Carla Cathcart, Marianne Kane, Cindy Ragusa, and Julie Dyer, who have helped me overcome obstacles that no one else could have helped with. Soul sisters forever, and I love each one of you.
Of course, a special thank-you to each and every one of my children for all you have done for me over the years and being the best children a mother could ask for. I love all five of you unconditionally.
Layne, I am so proud to have you in my life. No grandmother could be any prouder of their grandchild than I am of you. You have been such a blessing and a joy to have in my life, and I love you so much. You will always be Mamaw’s partner.
Isaiah, I couldn’t imagine life without you in it. You are just a baby now, but you have stolen my heart as well. One day you will be big enough to come and stay with me. You will become my little partner as well.
Also, a very special thanks goes to my sister, Barbara, for her legal help and support over the last few years. I love you and appreciate all that you have done for me and my children.

Is He Okay?
There were blinding lights of blue and red, flashing and lighting up the sky as I stood with my son, Stephen, in the middle of our little country road. The anticipation was so overwhelming that time seemed to be an eternity. A policeman was questioning me, but giving me no answer to the only question I had. The only thing I wanted to know.
It all started with a phone call from my sister-in-law, Donna. Having a police scanner, Donna heard there had been an accident a half mile up the road from us. She was checking to make sure we were all at home safe. I replied that Jason, my husband, had not yet made it home. He had gone to some friend’s house after church to pick up the lawn mower deck so he could get the mower together and mow the yard. He has to always have the yard mowed and looking good. This would be the first mowing of the year. Spring had just begun; it was Sunday, March 25, 2007.
The night before this happened Jason, our youngest daughter, Stacey, and I had done what we looked forward to every spring. That was to float the Buffalo River and fish till late at night. It was a wonderful and memorable night. Life was great and this was our favorite season of the year.
After I received the call from Donna, Stephen and I decided to drive up the road and make sure all was well. I was not prepared for what I was about to see, but there was no turning back now. I immediately stopped the car and jumped out, as the sight before me was definitely a truck all too familiar to me. It was Jason, and the front end of the truck was crushed into a tree. I knew he was still inside, but as I ran toward the truck, I was stopped by a state trooper as I reached the front of the vehicle. He wanted to know if that was my truck. I told him yes, it was Jason’s, and he had been on his way home. I asked what happened and if Jason was okay. The state trooper would not answer any of my
