Nivischi N. Edwards

Nivischi is a therapist who specializes in marriage and family relations. She has a passion for healthy relationships and believes that the ability to have a healthy relationship with self is the catalyst for all other relationships of health. To write this book, she connected with other amazing women who shared about times in their lives when they overcame a personal life experience. In so doing, these women often found the purpose behind the pain and, despite the difficulty, were able to move forward in life. Nivischi enjoys focusing on the positive things of life and believes that even in painful experiences, there is a purpose and a plan. She loves to travel and often finds serenity basking in the beauty of creation by the ocean. While spending time in relationships with others is essential to Nivischi, she thoroughly enjoys spending time by herself.

T he stories in this book were written by women from varied walks of life. They are daughters, mothers, sisters, aunts, friends, and lovers. The stories involve deeply personal life experiences, and because of the sensitive nature of some of them, a few of these amazing women have chosen to remain anonymous.

Each story represents the life of a woman of strength, passion, and courage. Each chapter speaks of endurance through trial. It also reflects the journey these women faced in their individual pain to get to the place of purpose in their life. Despite the difficulties in the experiences they share, they each found a way to trust God and find the hope they needed to move forward.

The stories were written by Norma Brown, Letitia Browne-James, Dora Desamour, Nivischi N. Edwards, Rose Gibson, Samantha Gregroy, Marlene Michael, and Jennifer Schwirzer.

It has been an honor to write with these amazing ladies as they related and composed their stories. I have especially appreciated the courage shown by each, not only in reliving their experiences, but also by telling their particular stories with such courage and passion. I applaud the tenacity and patience of each woman through the process of this book—from the inception and struggle of writing each word, to the completion of the project through to publication. It has been a long and difficult journey. Through it all, they have been patient and humble.
