About this ebook

When I awaken and couldnt move because my hands were tied. I couldnt speak because I had something like a gag in my mouth. I could hear her voice telling me your hands are tied, dont try to move. I looked for an escape route, I couldnt believe my family was sitting in the room and letting her tie me up. I was kidnapped, and had to help myself. What really happened to me was really a miracle.

    INTRODUCTION

This book is about miracles that occur in a woman’s life. It presents life and death situations and the extraordinary measures taken to save her life. The encounters are all true and reveal some devastating challenges. The one key factor in the miracles is faith in God. The woman encourages her family to pray; and the family never lose faith in God and his power. The book is divided into two parts, the first part Burnt Toast tells the story of how God allows a medical emergency to uncover a physical condition that would have cost her life. The second part Kidnapped, is so incredulous you won’t believe what you are reading. This book gives insight to how to deal with tragedy through love, faith and prayer. Families, friends and communities bind together to save the life of this woman, a mother, wife, sister, friend and the doctor that would not give up. I hope you enjoy the book and understand what it means to pray and expect positive results.

    BURNT TOAST

    By Gwen Buxton

This book is dedicated to the memory of the late Elder James Cross, Sr. of New Cross Temple, Chicago, Illinois, southside. Elder Cross provided spiritual guidance throughout my ordeal, through scripture, prayers and counseling. He and his wife, Lady Linda Cross drove two hours everyweek to visit, during my convalescent period. Elder Cross was a man of faith, and he let me know that healing was just a prayer away through faith. The church suffered a great loss following his death.

    BURNT TOAST

July 31, 2009, a voice spoke to me and said anoint yourself and pray Not only did I anoint myself, but I anointed everything in the house, not knowing the reason why, but I am obedient to the voice of the Lord. This is why its important to have a relationship with the Lord, so you will know His voice when you hear it. On Saturday, August 1, we were preparing to go out for breakfast, we decided on a restaurant called Burnt Toast, best bacon and eggs and french toast, all the food is excellent, service is great, and the owners visit every table to make sure everyone is satisfied. There are two restaurants, both on the same street, but a few miles apart. One was older and smaller, the other one was newer and larger, but for some reason I liked the older restaurant better. So when Jerry, my husband, asked me which restaurant I said Burnt Toast, but the older one . Jerry wanted to go to the newer one, we finally agreed on the older one. We didn’t know it at the time but it was God’s divine plan that we go to this particular restaurant. Before we left the house, my daughter, Lisa asked if we could take our grandbaby Moyo, with us. Quam, her husband was taking Bola the other grandson, for swimming lessons and Lisa was scheduled to work, she’s a OB/GYN doctor. It would have been awkward with a baby at the swimming pool because the parents have to get in the pool with the children. Taking the baby was no problem because Moyo could just sit in the highchair and eat, he was a good baby.

Well we went to the restaurant, at the same time that me and my brothers and sister were having our weekly Saturday conference call. Me, Jerry and the baby arrived at Burnt Toast, it was crowded but we got
