THE CROCKETT TALES are short stories for children which emphasise the importance of kindness to people and animals and the protection of our environment. The virtues of patience, obedience, honesty, kindness and wisdom are recurring themes. There are ten entertaining short stories with lively illustrations. All convey in an interesting way a moral which even young children can understand. Children need to respect themselves, others, animals and the environment. All of us need to be less self-seeking, less money-conscious and to be more patient with relatives and friends. The Crockett tales project a new message with each story and allow the reader to think about his own way of improving society.
These stories have been inspired by Billy Crockett and written by Tilly Crockett
Illustrations by Milly Crockett.

I found him here on the mat
I replied. Can he stay while we look for his owner
? I asked as the dog jumped up on the sofa and
