About this ebook

Charlotte, the adorable Shih Tzu, has a new grooming experience and makes new friends.

They go to The Magical Garden to enjoy The Lollipop Tree, The Sea of Chocolates and The Ice Cream Igloo. A new game is also born, with Wally the Wannabe Wallaby being the inspiration for it.

When she is back, Charlotte and her Mommy are saved from marauding canines by her four faithful “buddyguards”, Chandler, Dobby, Chip and Bully. Charlotte’s Mommy then starts caring for them.

While Charlotte and her new friends are on a play date at Joe’s, he is attacked by Stinky and The Stench, who are duly dealt with by the buddyguards, too.

Truly, this is a magical tale of the magic of doggies.

    Grooming

There are days that are boring and those that really get me going. Like today, for instance.

Once a fortnight, Mommy would take me to the groomer. Today was that once in a fortnight, albeit with a slight difference. The difference, of course, being the groomer. Or grooming. Maybe both.

The regular groomer only had wire cages to put us into when she finished grooming us, the doggies. Mommy would always wait for me while I was groomed, because she knew I hated those cages.

Those cages brought back really bad memories of Growly, Snarly and Grouchy in the pet shop. Daddy and Mommy knew I hated them. The cages, I mean; I could never hate Daddy or Mommy. If I was put in one, I would pace nervously and try to find a way out. The immense frisson that overcame me as soon as I was in a cage would quickly spread to the other doggies and soon enough, the grooming room would be filled with the tumult of a dozen howling hounds.

Mommy had noticed it first. Once, when she had to leave me in the kitchen while she mopped the floor of the living room, she had used a wire fence as a barrier, so that I would not leave my cute little paw-prints on the living room floor.

One look at the wire fence and I started pacing nervously. Left to right. Right to left. About-turn! Mommy hadn’t noticed me while she mopped, but when I whimpered, she dropped the mop and came hurriedly
