Curled up in bed, my Siamese cat Honey stretched out her paws next to me.

From the age of 5, I’d been obsessed with cats. And now, aged 7, in 1980, I doted on my beloved Honey.

‘You’re my best friend,’ I told her, stroking her furry head.

And it was true, we did everything together.

Sleeping next to each other every night...

Eating breakfast and dinner...

I even took her on walks in an old toy pram!
