Kneeling down in front of the cage, I took one look at the big, puppy dog eyes in front of me and my heart instantly melted.
‘Aww, you’re so cute,’ I cooed, wiggling my fingers through the bars as the dog wagged her tail excitedly.
I was volunteering at a kennels in Rotherham, Yorkshire, when a beautiful, border-collie cross caught my eye.
