Essence of Success
()
About this ebook
Success is what you are pursuing and it also what everyone in the world is chasing after. This is because success is the vehicle that will take you from your current status, level, dimension, and state to a higher one. You will only climb higher after you succeed in your current endeavour. Without it you will remain a normal man and die to add value to the graveyard. You might be thinking right now that success is unreachable for you because everything you try seems to fail. But don't you know that a failure or ten failures or even hundred failures are a step away from success, it is an indication that success is very close.
This book is written to show you that success does not happen with a big explosion nor by luck or when you receive a prestigious US scholarship, but it is the sum of all the right things that you do to complement what you believe. The very fact that you are alive and are living in a free country is indeed a success. In fact, you have succeeded a million times but did not know it. After reading this book, you will appreciate that your day-to-day life is a constant success, and all you have to do is appreciate those successes and move on. It will cause you to put together all your successes and become a super successful person.

T his book is dedicated to my dad Simiong Siliveng Zuhuckec who with very limited education raised me up as a young person. I wish you were alive to see the fruit of your investment. The ideas and principles that I deliberated in this book are his silent dreams for his children.
Foreword
N apoleon Hill said: You can be anything you want to be, if only you believe with sufficient conviction and act in accordance with your faith; for whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve,
a statement that is chiselled in marble to last for all of humanity. Hill has inspired millions of people with his work. Many people the world over have been following Napoleon Hill and others in our contemporary times like Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Henson, John C Maxwell, David Tracey, Anthony Robbins, T. Harv Eker, David Allen, Francis Cole Jones, and Robert T. Kiyosaki. Anyone who has read these authors will attest to one thing: the power of oneself and coupled with enough conviction to succeed in whatever one wants to do or become. It is possible to become the person one wants to become if you put your mind to it.
The foreword is for a book written by Watson-Warecgupe Simiong, a special Papua New Guinean whose own journey in life has much to offer to others with similar experiences. He has written the book with sincerity and with much compassion to share the challenges and achievements he experienced in life. Having his goals and plans written down has helped him walk the difficult road and overcome many obstacles in his way. In this book he stands on the foundation of his cultural foundations, his Christian upbringing, and the many teachings he acquired in his life-long learning of ways and strategies to improve his life.
Writing a foreword to a book of motivation is a wonderful experience. From reading the content to recognizing the motivational goal posts re-ignites one’s own passion to grow, develop, and become successful. It is a wonderful experience reading motivational writing from a Papua New Guinean.
In his own words, Watson writes: I am convinced that all humans are born to be partakers of opportunities to fully develop one’s own life and that of their communities, their country, and the world as a whole.
Inspirational and motivating, Watson has this to say: Success is a total sum of your efforts in any endeavour that produces positive outcomes and places you in a stable position of satisfaction, peace, and security that influence others to pursue a similar life style. It is about influencing and causing the change in others to make better choices in life.
I hope Watson’s book will find its place in every Papua New Guinean’s life. It has the power to inspire and transform the mind to do what it wants for itself. It has the power to influence those who are lost to find their way back on track. This book will serve its purpose as conceived by the author.
Enjoy the read.

Preface
E ssence of success is a reflection of my personal experience in life. Although there have been many publications on the subject of success, I feel obliged to relay my personal experiences to the current and the future successful Greats. The aim of this book is to motivate young people especially from the area and the country I come from to pursue great success in all spheres of life and tap into many opportunities that are flourishing in their country. This is because the world is moving very fast and if you continue to live complacently and do not change, others will overtake and you will be left behind only to be a spectator.
I am convinced that all humans are born to be partakers of opportunities to fully develop one’s own life and that of their communities, their country and the world as a whole.
I owe the principles in this book to those who taught, corrected, mentored and challenged me to reach great heights in life. It is also from a deep conviction that life is too short and the minimum that one can do is to influence others by ones positive life.
You are others’ dream
Life is too short and, therefore, many things that man dream of are never realised in his lifetime. Your great forefather, your forefather and your father had big dreams and are having big dreams, but not all of them, or none of them, became a reality or may become a reality. When they passed off, they passed on their dreams to you to fulfil it, so your current existence is a part fulfilment of your fore runners’ dreams, and you have more to reach before you join up with them. Success is the vehicle that takes you from the beginning of your journey in life to the fulfilment of your dream and destiny.
It is, therefore, my firm belief that you must be well equipped with necessities that will keep your vehicle in good running condition to take you all the way there. Success, therefore, is not a one time gold medal winner, a landslide election victory or a profitable turnover in business, but a sum total of all the positive achievements that you acquire throughout your daily conduct. This is because if you wait for a big explosion, it might not come at all in your lifetime.
The million successes
It is a settled universal principle that all big things come in small packages. Let me highlight to you some of the successes that you made without being aware.
■ The fact that you are alive and reading this book is a success. Think about the millions who are dying due to various circumstances. Some are dying in tragic circumstances such as war, accidents, payback killings and calculated murders, while others are due to diverse sicknesses, hunger, jealousy, suicide and aging. Even while you are reading this book people are dying, but you are still alive, it’s truly a success.
■ It’s a success if you have prepared a good meal for your family. Millions in the world do not eat balanced meal in at least three weeks, and a good number of people are not familiar with preparing a balanced meal for themselves.
■ If you have food on your table every day, it is a success. Millions in the world are starving to death due to lack of food and water. Think about refugees fleeing their countries due to war and tribal conflicts and are finding themselves in detention centres in foreign soils. Think about victims of famine, war and pestilence dying due to hunger and starvation; think about those who are scavenging on cramps in the trash bins in large metropolitan cities.
■ If you are educated to a level where you can read, write and do simple calculation that is a success. Think about those who cannot type an SMS in their mobile phone; think about those who do not understand the letters of the alphabet.
■ If you are a good father of your family, that is a success. There are many married men, but only good fathers can honestly take care of their family and influence them positively. In a world that misses fathers, if you are one, then it is a success.
■ If you have been truly obedient to your parents all the time, it’s a success. The world is full of disobedient people. Children dishonour their parents through disobedience, and therefore, the world is dying to see obedient teenagers and young adults.
■ If you own land and other resources, it’s a success. Millions around the world do not have land, so they spend their entire life on city fringe, under railway stations and under public infrastructures and feed on crumps from the city dumps.
■ If you have got married to your spouse in church before having children, it’s a success. Millions are suffering de facto relations, and the locality you are now living in has never conducted any church wedding in your lifetime.
■ If your parents are both living and raising you up, it’s a success. A young Grade Twelve girl lost both of her parents in a tragic airplane crash in 2011 two days before her Higher School Certificate Examinations in Papua New Guinea. She made it through and admitted later that she was so privileged to be
