Whispers: From a Still Small Voice

This is an inspired collection of poetry that I have received since 1983. These thoughts came to me after personal conversations with God. Journaling was a one-way conversation that evolved into a two-way relationship, which inspired this collection.

Seeking answers to all the whys of the pain and shame I had experienced, I turned to God, opened my heart, and listened. Then I began writing what I heard.

My heartfelt wish is that after reading this, you will see God as someone who wants a personal relationship with you.

Kimberly Bjerken Lalley

Born in Minnesota in 1963, Kim Bjerken was diagnosed with hip dysplasia in the first year of her life. This required hip surgery, a body cast for three months, braces, and corrective shoes until the age of five. She married at age nineteen and had become a mother of four when tragedy struck again. Another hip surgery put her in a wheelchair while faced with raising three girls under five and a son that was ten years old. More surgeries and a car accident kept her in a wheelchair until 2002, when through the grace of God, she was able to start rehabilitation and counseling for PTSD. Then she went on to seek a degree as a certified medical assistant. She currently lives in a mountainous area near Glacier Park and works as a certified medical assistant, having overcome the setbacks that had limited her mobility earlier in life. Her strongest belief is that prayers make a difference.

YOU ARE MY WAY

O Lord my King

I cry out to You with all my heart

I need You now to hear this prayer

For my heart is heavy within

The world is on the brink of disaster

And tribulations await in every corner

I know that You are God

The world is coming close to the end of the age

My heart is secure knowing that You are with me

Holy Spirit You dwell within me and I know that I am with You

All things will be revealed with the glory and plan of God

There is a peace and a fighting strength that wells up within me

I will not be defeated by the hand of Satan

I will not stand by and do nothing.

For I am a little king of the Mighty King

You, O Lord, gave me the authority to pray

Persistence with earnest prayer unveils the wonderful and glorious things

Holy Spirit I ask that You will come and pour out Your Spirit

Upon the heart of all mankind

Turn our hearts and our faces to Jesus Christ our Savior
