About this ebook

This is the place where you expect to learn about the author. Well, Patrick and I have been married over twenty years. However, this book of poetry was never really about us. The true author of this book is our Savior, Jesus Christ. Immanuel means God with us. During trials, our Savior is indeed with us. When we rejoice, He is with us. When we cry, He is with us. At every stage of our lives, through our doubts and fears, pain and sorrow, celebration and joy, He is with us. He is our light in the dark. He is the voice calling us by name into safety. These psalms were inspired by our Savior who is always with us. Through these psalms, you will not be drawn to us but to Him. Our prayer is that your heart would find peace and joy as you read these psalms and enter into the presence of Immanuel.

    Friend

Don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessings at the appropriate time.

    Galatians 6:9

    Keep Working

    D on’t look around

    Just look at me

    With me is where

    You’re supposed to be

    I have you in

    The palm of my hand

    So trust me even when

    You don’t understand

    Questions you ask

    Lead you to doubt

    But I’ll be your eyes

    Inside and out

    I know that you’re tired

And it’s easy to give in

    Don’t be discouraged

    This isn’t the end

    You’re equipped with power

    No man can define

    Your strength comes from me

    Because you are mine

    Keep working until

    The day that I come

    Never give up

Until your task has been done

    The world can’t appreciate

    Understand or see

How I’ve blessed the work of your hands

    Because you belong to me

    Each tear is accounted for

I hold them tightly to my chest

    Soon I’ll send you blessings

    And you’ll finally find rest

At the right time I will come

    And I’ll carry you away

    Then forever with me

    Is where you will stay

How can we understand the road we travel? It is the Lord who directs our steps.

    Proverbs 20:24

    A Stepping Stone

U pon this path I travel

Where faith says I must go

Unsure of where this road may lead

    Only knowing I must follow

    I hesitate with every turn

Afraid of what may lay ahead

Though doubt has caused my heart to fear

I hear Please trust me instead

Upon my path I come across

Some stones to block my way

Stumbling blocks to trip me up

To fall down and leave me lay

Afraid to trip I turn away

I fear little my faith has grown

    I hear "It’s not a stumbling block

Use it as a stepping stone"

Across the rocks I make my way

To a place where water did flow

The water now has blocked my path

How to cross I did not know

Here it seems my journey ends

It’s been hard right from the start

I hear "Don’t fear but take a step

Faith will make the water part"

As I crossed to the other side

I was sure I had overcome

Then a mountain rose in front of me

So tall it blocked the sun

No way that I could go around

    I just do not understand

Tears in my eyes I heard His voice

"Come child and take my hand

I never said you’d never doubt

Believe me I knew you would

When your eyes would fail to see

You were afraid and I understood

Doubt made you think you’d stumble here

Though I had made the way

    A stepping stone to overcome

Your trials and come what may

The water could only cleanse your soul

Removing all your guilt and shame

You walked in and I proved my power

As I washed it all away

The mountain climbed up to the sky

And caused your heart to fear

If you take my hand and walk with me

I will never leave you here

The rain will come and the wind will blow

Sometimes the sun will fail to shine

    The only shelter you will
