I Heard You, Lord
()
About this ebook
The title poem, “I Heard You, Lord,” bespeaks the author’s profound faith in God. Hope emanates from the poem “The Cross,” and “Why, Mama?” records a crisis in faith after the death of the author’s mother. Soon, however, faith again runs deep in the verse “Outstretched Arms,” in which the poet writes: “O Lord, I know / That You see by day and by night. / Not ever letting even one / Out of sight.” The sight of a big spectacular cloud reminds her of the Second Coming of Jesus in the work titled “The Cloud in the Sky.”
With inspiration and warmth, here are poems that clearly and directly share one’s celebration of faith.

In
memory of my dear Mother
who is so deeply missed. The pain is
still so great. You are truly missed
by all who knew you. If only you knew!
But when I think about it, I GUESS YOU DO.
We know you are looking down at us from above.
And doing the Lord’s will with such great love.
And to you, Patricia
my sister and closest and dearest friend,
who came into my life in-my darkest hours,
who has given so much of herself and shared
her love of the Lord with me. She continues
to walk day by day with me. God bless you, Pat.
And may you continue to let the Lord’s light shine.
And also,
to my pride and joy, Shanté Reneé
