ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
To my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ: Thank You for being the messenger of the covenant, exampling love, and becoming the sacrifice for our sins while carrying our sicknesses that we might receive healing and wholeness in You. We can now do all things through You, but nothing without You. Thank You for Your love that pursues and awakens our hearts as we prepare for Your glorious return!
To my husband, Michael: Thank you for your covenant love with me, bound in Christ. Thank you for loving me and our boys through sickness and in health, for richer and for poorer, and for your continual support, prayers, leadership, and encouragement that provides safety to walk by faith and grow in all God created us to be. You are an amazing husband, father, and friend. I love you and am blessed by you!
To my sons, Chad and Kyle: With your births arrived a deeper level and understanding of love. You are our greatest gifts, and words cannot express how proud we are of you. Thank you for your love, support, encouragement, and sacrifices you have made through all of our ups and downs, risks, and endeavors. You are loved infinitely more than you know, not only by us, but by your Heavenly Father who created you in His image to love as He loves.
To my parents, Wayne and Sharon Dukes: I can’t express the gratefulness and honor to have been raised in the knowledge of God and the fear of the Lord. Thank you for teaching me and my family His ways, for exampling His love, and for your prayers and support in every trial while sharing the joy in every victory. You’ve taught us to love life and love others and pour into them all that has been poured into us. I love you!
To Uncle
Buzz and Aunt
Bev Friedel: Thank you for loving me as one of your own and for continually pouring Christ into me and my family. You have encouraged me in the promises of God and to stand firm in His love and truth. Though miles have separated us physically for years, your love, prayers, and support have been unfailing and always there. God has used you both mightily in our lives, and my prayer is that we can share even a portion of what you have shared with us!
To my siblings, Heather, Krista, and TJ, and your families: You have cheered me on, picked me up, and been there for me and my family when our steps of faith have led us to deeper waters and a deeper trust in Christ. You have literally given of yourselves to run the race and fight the good fight of faith together as teachers, parents, and servants, impacting hearts and lives for Jesus to raise a generation that seeks His face.
To Carlos and Emily Sarmiento: When we moved to Florida, we prayed that God would give us God-fearing leaders to challenge us to go deeper in our walk with the Lord. He led us to you. Thank you for your warm welcome, leadership, pursuit of Christ and His mandates on earth, and for igniting our hearts in prayer. We are continually driven to advance the kingdom of God and impart His truth and love. Thank you for continuing to grow us in the Word and for encouraging us as forerunners and watchmen for Christ’s return. We are greatly blessed by you!
To my many sisters in Christ (you know who you are): Though we are scattered across the country, thank you for being a text or phone call away for prayer, encouragement, and accountability as we seek the deeper things of God together and fight for others to truly know Him. Thank you for building me up in faith and encouraging me to step upon the waters, knowing I am held steadfast in His covenant love! What an amazing blessing you are!
To my high school English teacher, Peggy Carey: Thank you so much for encouraging this math teacher to write, and for taking the time to help me get started through your editing help and advice. Your love and support throughout the years is greatly appreciated to this student, and your caring guidance and reflection of Christ’s love will continue through the many students you have poured into. May God continue to water and bring increase to every seed of His love you have planted in the hearts of your students and in all who know you!
To my grandmothers who recently went to be with my Lord, Kathryn Hoffman and Patricia Ellerman: Thank you for the inheritance of love you continually gave and have imparted. Thank you for the gift you left that this book could be published. My prayer is that it will touch many lives to know and receive the passionate, unending love of Christ, and become equipped in His love to abide in and with Him forever, as you are.
FOREWORD
It is becoming clearer day by day that the Holy Spirit is actively moving upon His church to awaken and quicken her for the great harvest of souls that God wants to reach at the end of the age. In 2005, the Lord radically encountered my life and transformed our ministry regarding His agenda for end-time ministry and the need to have the bride, the church, awakened. In the same way, the Lord has deeply touched Robyn Sturgeon’s heart to totally surrender herself to God’s pursuit and to His purposes. The book that you have in your hand will take you on a journey of divine love, revealing God’s pursuit for His church as the bride of Christ. He wants to capture our hearts in order that all of our affections would be focused upon Him. This love will cleanse us from things that seek to hinder and distract us from God’s divine plan for our lives. You will read and understand how God’s love will prepare us for a fresh outpouring of His Holy Spirit.
The Book of Acts never ended! On the contrary, the Holy Spirit has always had His witnesses throughout the generations to revive the church back to the heart of God. Today, the Spirit of God continues to do the same. He is the one who lavishly sheds God’s love upon the heart of the believer for the purpose of setting us free into His purposes.
Vessels like Robyn understand what God is saying prophetically in this hour in order to prepare the church for the coming of the Lord. These prophetic voices that God is raising up, however, also perceive that there is a great outpouring that God desires to release upon the earth. This outpouring will bring forth a great manifestation of signs and wonders, which will result in a massive number of souls coming into the kingdom of God.
